Hi all,

I get the upgrade/change buzz every so often. I am just looking at my setup and considering what I could chane/upgrade if at all.

Here is where I am at:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP
GPU: HD6970 Turbo
CPU: i5 2500k
Memory: XMS3 8GB
Sound: X-Fi XtremeGamer
PSU: Corsair 620watt
Storage: Samsung 128 SSD & F4 2TB, F2 1TB x2
Monitor: Samsung 24" p2450 & Samsung 22" 226Cw
Speakers: Logitech Z-2300
OS: Win7 64bit
Case: ATCS 840
Keyboard: Corsair K90
Mouse: Deathadder (Black Edition)

I am considering changing the mouse, as its slightly big in my hand, to may be the Corsair M65. I am also looking at upgrading my sound card to the new Logitec Z series. Perhaps even upgrading my monitor to a 27" at a higher resolution. But none of these are definite, I am the research stage lol

I play a few games, listen to a bit of music and do a bit of photoshop etc. I do like a quality system that doesn't get sluggish.

Appreciate any thoughts.

The mouse is your decision, personally I like my deathadder, though I do have shovel hands..

I would just keep your sound card, unless your doing music production, spending money on a sound card isn't worth it.

A 1200p or 1440p monitor may be a good shout.

Have you got your 2500k over clocked? Getting an aftermarket cooler may be a nice investment.

Whats your budget for an upgrade?

Well not sure as yet, it depends on where I decide to upgrade.

Not really into overclocking, I don't like to mess with things in case I wreck it lol. I may look into that at a later stage.

I looked at changing my deathadder to the M65 but after trying it out in a local store found it to be to small and not very comfortable in my hand compared the razer, and I thought I had small hands.

If you are looking to upgrade your monitor then maybe a GFX boost will be needed, a 7950 should do the trick.

Overclock 2500k, its seriously easy nowadays and you won't "wreck it". A cheap cooler will see you at 4ghz+ and will increase performance nicely.

If you upgrade your monitor then a new GPU will help that along for when you do game, a 7950 as suggested earlier would be my suggestion there

Thanks for that. I will look into overclocking too.

It should easily support 2 monitors.

all 7950's have atleast 3 outputs.

You mean like one HDMI monitor and one normal?

It depends on your monitor connections..

That picture shows 1 x DVI & 1 X HDMI & 2 X Mini display ports.

Using the DVI and HDMI is the easiest option..

If your monitors are HMDI only, you can get a DVI to HDMI cable.
