Bioshock 3 - Infinite

Never liked Bioshock, got a key with my graphics card .. just waiting for it! deffo going to sell it and buy another game instead :D

Saying that, I haven't actually checked trailers for this one. Is it expected to be good?

Well theyre certainly not afraid to show off the mechanics (which look ******* incredible) judging by the insane amount of promotional material out there for it at the moment. You should check out the 15 minutes of gameplay on youtube, my jaw literally dropped first time I saw it.
Then again, I'm a dirty little Ken Levine fan boy and always will be xD

Hoping the steam preorder rewards gets to level 3, a free copy of xcom enemy unkown :)

Should do, its at 72% now so at the rate its increasing it should get there.. Personally I think all pre order incentives on Steam get unlocked, its just to get you to order, I might be wrong but I think they market it as a way to say, you'll get free stuff if more order, but you will anyway regardless, just encourages you to order sooner..

GMG say you'll get two free games, Steam say you'll get two free games if more pre order, but you'll get them anyway, just means you'll have to wait, they won't not give you them, thats poor marketing, its just a good way to get people going, order, order, you'll get a free game..

Anyhow, I just want bioshock infinite - can't wait..

Does anyone know if the people who preordered the Songbird edition still get the unlocks? I know the games still activated through Steam and I did get my copy of Bioshock (Which i'm willing to give away to someone whos not yet played it???) but that's going for free everywhere at the mo and I haven't got any TF2 unlocks...

I'm a little tempted to preorder it through steam just because it comes with XCOM which I've been thinking about getting too. Not overly convinced with the setting, just sounds like they're trying to make it look cool since it really doesn't have anything to do with the Bioshock franchise (except very loosely).

If you take the purposefully dreary atmosphere and the beautiful art style out of the first two games though, Rapture was a ******* boring ass place, and I'm speaking as a diehard fan!
I never liked it, felt way too cramped and cluttered at times (though I'm sure that was intentional, just not my thing)
For me, the introduction of a more open, brightly lit enviroment couldn't be more of a welcome change. And those skylines... I cannot wait to get on them. It's a mechanic that's so monstrously bonerific to me.
No, I really do think taking it out of Rapture and setting it in the time period it's in was the best decision Irrational could have made.

TF2 unlocks only come with steam pre-orders surely and the songbird is physical so I highly doubt you're going to get them.

But technically, the game is still preordered with Steam as that's where it's unlocked... then again, I didn't preorder it via steam... But then, how did my free copy of B1 come about
Imma have to go in deep on this one

Perhaps, but calling it Bioshock just seems like an excuse to keep the same mechanics, use the name to sell the game and throw in a few token 'prequel' moments to link them. I didn't find the location boring at all and I don't really see how setting it in the sky is really much different. The only real difference is instead of windows with an impressive sea-scape + civilization you have an open area of islands with civilization instead.

As for the skylines... looks like they reeled you in. To me they just look like they wanted something wacky to show with a bit of flash. Fun certainly... for 5 minutes until the novelty wears off.

Honestly, maybe they will make a good game but I can't help but be skeptical of the way they're using the IP. Wouldn't be the first game to use an IP to sell something unrelated in all but the most flimsy of ways.

PS3 version only 7gb is a worrying sign ? surely a mega game like this should be weighing in at at least 15gb.

There might be a console version with low textures, yet the PC yeilding much higher res textures? One can only hope. Remember the 360 on has 8 or so gig free...

From what I've read, the PS3 and 360 versions have pretty low-res textures so that might explain the size. 7GB is still plenty though!
