O2 ID fraud

I see this on a daily basis with working at Phones 4u. Make sure you get in contact with O2 and have them arrange for it to be posted back to them. If anybody calls saying they are from O2 and that they are coming to pick up the handset, make sure you hang up or if they come to the house deny you have it and contact the police. Make sure you don't give it to them as you may be liable to pay for the handset from O2.

Just a bit of an update, its been over a month now. We've received another letter just saying what the contract is, Unlimited texts/minutes/data for £47 a month. We've rang O2 multiple times and they just keep telling us that the fraud squad has been informed. Is there anything else we can do or just sit and keep waiting? The phone is still sitting on the side untouched, i thought they'd at least want us to send it back to them?

You should use it if it's been a month! Call them again up and ask them if they would like to come collect the phone. There is something about unsolicited goods but not sure what the time span is for you to keep the said content.

EDIT: Can you see any details of how this contract is paid?

It's strange they haven't asked for the phone back yet. I take it you've checked to see that no standing order has been set up on your bank account ?
