Hi all

To help put out the flames from the overpriced?!? i10 I posted about I just replaced it with a new motor (financed through bank loan). I'll clear this fingers crossed by xmas.

It's a 2007 CRV EX iVTEC with 1 owner, full Honda history, 40k miles, Automatic, pan sunroof, all leather, parking sensors, reverse camera, privacy glass, heated seats, sat nav, bluetooth, adaptive cruise... basically top of the range all the toys.

Payed £12795, which I think made it the best value lowest miles EX with auto box on autotrader.

Don't have photos but looks like this . The marmite colour missus likes which is fair enough. The poor i10, I cleared the finance and the cheapest on autotrader is 5.5k, so it actually held it's value very well losing a whopping 1.5k in two years! (that seems less depreciation than many cars, I guess the OAPs love them)

Let the flames begin....

2.0 or 2.4?

Edit 2.4 not offered here ? In which case 2.2 Cdti would have been my choice :)

It's a 2.0 petrol... never want a diesel Honda engine after seeing a gen 2 CRV blow up at 30k miles.

Dunno what the line down side is in photo... it's not on one I bought

Fox, I put on flame proof suit for you and nothing... most disappointed lol

nope, i posted it to illustrate marmite colour

The 2.2 was not avail in auto as far as I can see till 2009-2010... and the price on these is 16-17k which is really out of what I wanted to pay (edit: seems you need to pay 19-20k for a fully loaded EX)

I hate diesel with a passion, and being a EP3 Type R owner I love Hondas VTEC petrols.... even if on paper the diesel is better. Also have the reliability niggle which I have experienced 1st hand. CRV in question needed a complete new engine...

I do like CR-Vs we have them as Ambulance Cars and they're a lovely drive. We have the bigger Diesel lumps but some still have the 2.0 and they've got plenty of poke :D

I drove a CRV last year and thought it was awful - though I've not much experience with 4x4 type cars. The gearbox, steering, handling etc all felt very disconnected to me - though I didn't expect amazing handling, I don't think I could live with it day to day. It was like driving a jelly compared to a decent saloon IMO.

No around 1-1.5k under.... There was another petrol auto EX, but it was 750 odd more with 69k miles and no history. Most on auto trader are either manuals, or ES models

I didn't buy it for a bargain, but it was cheapest low miler in country at reasonable distance in top spec... And only 15 miles up road jubbly

Edit, post a link to same spec, miles and better price
