Four cards for the price of one?

It's not about reopening that discussion, that was the point of the comment in regards, my Titan rant is only pointed out when in differing opinions-to paint a picture on my character like you did yesterday for those reading, which is about manning up and not be childlike in the action of casting it up from time to time.

You done it yesterday and now today, the only other direct mentioning of it is from greg-which I can only account for disagreement from discussions on other threads, but the end result is character slanting in order to make the person look bad in general portrayed by the perpetrator in a childlike mannerism-playground stuff tbph.

:)

What on earth are you on about? The reason for pointing it out was as a direct example of somebody taking whinging too far with regards to the price. Nothing more, nothing less. And it was posted directly at Matt. Not you. Read into it what you like but that's more to do with your thought process than what I actually said.

The point stands regarding the price moaning. As I said, if it was just a couple of people annoyed by it I'm sure Rilot wouldn't have spent so much time keeping the threads on track after 2 got closed prior to that. Some people just don't like engaging in pages of twisting and turning over nothing with you Tommy and as a result don't get vocal about it.

Edit: is this thread troll bait or something. I have to concur with Kaapstad and say it is a waste of column inches.

I wonder how 4 7970's stack up against Andybirds 3 Titans at his res of over 7k x 1440 I believe. Going from my results at 5760x1080, you will not be able to because of the lack of VRAM. Talking about Crysis 3 here btw and possibly Hitman/Tomb Raider...

All these small things need to be considered.

4 of those cards and still much cheaper than 3 titans. The titans will still win but memory would not be a problem.

Depending on disposable income makes this thread pointless.

Someone might feel that £100 is a lot of money.
Someone might feel that £500 is a lot of money.
Someone might feel that £1000 is a lot of money.

And someone else might feel that none of those are lots of money. It is all personal and whilst you try to justify the cost of your £950's Tommy, some just won't care.

I don't think he can help it Tommy. He's probably not even aware he's doing it. Love him or loath him, that's Rusty.

Aparantly so, our love hate relationship on the forum is like a blossoming cactus, miss the flower and all you get is a

:D

I imagine in a perfect world with perfect scaling above 2 X gpu's the titan would win out and so they should for the monies involved.

Not to the op sitting on Z77 and using 1080p 3D.:D

There's a lot of people who own them here :). Basically because price/performance is not the only consideration when purchasing.

Exactly. I bought one because

1. High performance single card solution for 2560+ res
2. Quiet
3. Efficient
4. Well built
5. Nvidia

My last card was a 580 that served me well for 2 years. I Paid £440 for the 580 so thats £220 per year. I expect to keep this card for 3 years and it works out about £300 per year which isn't too bad.

£300 is not a fat lot of money. Hell my kids will pay that for Skylanders

The thread is about tommys four 7950's and he compared them to the price of a titan. As far as i can see, there is nothing wrong with that. I can understand people getting annoyed if something like this had been posted in the titan thread as that would be baiting.

If you don't like the thread, or its contents best to stay out of it. That's what i do. :)

Indeed.

£300 is only roughly 33% of my disposable income per month as well so when you look at it like this it's not exactly the bankruptcy inducing GPU which is suggested at on here.

I don't even earn THAT much either

You're being a little bit short sighted. My comment originally was clearly intended as a riposte to what you originally said. Then Tommy's walls of text arupted. :D

Anyway, I don't think I've got anything else to say in a thread on a questionable path, so unless something else comes up which I disagree with I probably won't post in it again. :)

You are right Matt. A baiting thread and I bit :( I am out.

Enjoy your 4 7950's Tommy and I look forward to adding you on the bench threads and seeing your results in games :)

We should all see who can build the best pc with the cost of a titan. I know the prices have ranged from £840 -£1000 and beyond but for arguments sake lets just say £900. Extra points if you can build a whole computer that is faster than one titan. ;)

There might be a bit of bait, or it might just be banter. Either way i see nothing wrong. I enjoy these debates and we can't really have them in the titan thread so.

You can build a fine PC for £900 :).

That isn't the Titan market though is it? You haven't said it is but ok just stating for clarification.

Cheaper to just buy a console ;)
