Hi all,
I just built a new rig for work. I wondered if it's possible to run 2 monitors directly off the motherboard.

I have 2 screens both of which have DVI & VGA. Is it possible to connect my main screen to the HDMI on the motherboard using a DVI - HDMI adapter? This would mean my 2nd screen would be connected the the boards VGA...

To add, I do have an old GPU which I was using with the old rig but as the on-board graphics are a lot better than this card I don't want to use it.

thanks!

Can I ask what type of adapter you used? Seems to be quite a few around and just want to make sure I get the correct one. thanks.

The panther point Z77 chipset can support 3 screens with a Ivybridge chip if there are enough I/O connectors..

The Z68 had HDMI,DVI and VGA if I recall so no I didn't use an adapter for the HDMI. That Z77 only has HDMI and VGA i do believe

You can buy HDMI to DVI cables. Like THIS one.

An adapter would be THIS. Providing you have a DVI lead to use too.
