Replacement for my 670

I am looking for a new card to replace my MSI 670 OC reference (this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-164-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294).

The card works perfectly but it gets extremely hot. It touched 80 degrees last night which is too hot for my liking. I have set a custom fan profile but the fan gets too loud as well (I am quite picky about stuff like this if you hadn't noticed).

I have two/three possibles in mind as it stands and I am not tied to any particular company.

Firstly is the EVGA 670 FTW. Yes it is also a reference but my understanding after reading around it is on a 680 PCB therefore is cooler due to it using the 680 reference cooler! Is this correct? Is there much point going from one reference to another?

Second option is this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-097-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938. I don't really care for which company I have, I have no preference. As long as it will perform to my liking. Also the other option from AMD would be http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-297-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938

As for the rest of my system spec I am running a i5-3570K, 8GB 1600mhz Vengeance RAM on a MSI Z77 MPower board. I have a Seasonic X-850w PSU and this is all housed in a CM 690 II Advanced Nvidia Edition case with 4 x intake fans and 3 x exhaust fans.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I considered this myself, ive got an EVGA 670 Reference card, temps often hitting 75 degrees without a custom fan profile.

If you've got £315 spare go for the 670 FTW edition, although personally for me its not worth the extra spend.

Gonna stick with my 670 until the Kepler GPU's are out, my advice is stick with what you've got for as long as you can bare it!

Yeah the FTW edition is the one I am looking at with it's 680 PCB and cooler to boot. This should perform a lot better than my current card. I would look at selling my card to get some return.

It would be nice if there was some indication on when this refresh would come therefore make my decision making easier.

Is a very popular choice for 670's.

Go team red, 7970 will be better than the 670.

1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) with Crysis 3 & Bioshock PC Games £275.99

Simply can't see past this particular card having used many 79's now, it goes like stink@1200MHz on stock boost voltage, two of mine have taken 10th spot in the Firestrike 1080p leaderboard.:D

Thanks for all the replies so far. I do have to watch the size of the card due to my case. The originally gigabyte I linked would fit at a squeeze. I have a lot to look into and just want to make sure that I am not going to screw myself over in the upcoming months with possible releases of new cards etc.

I'd take the cooler off, clean it out and replace the TIM and thermal pads and try it again as it saves buying another card.

Second option would be an aftermarket cooler.

Only if I knew there was a problem with the card or I needed more performance would I look at a replacement.
