-- Corsair Vengeance C70 Thread --

It's got great airflow without the cages in place. I just have the top cage in place for 3 HD's and only have my 2 front fans on 40% but I do have a watercooled rig so mine also draws air in from below.

Will take some photo's tomorrow when the light is better.

A bit late to this but I was wondering if i took out the hard drive cages out how obstructive is the front of the case for air flow?

Sorry i'm not sure what you're asking.

The hard drive cages obstruct the airflow quite a lot, but you can put 1 on the front and 1 on the back of the cage.
If you only have 3 drives or less then best to remove a cage.

Just got mine 90% done Just waiting for the processor which didn't come today :(

Would've advised the AF120 for the front. They have to draw in air through the front grill and a dust filter. The SP120 fans are much better at this due to the pressure.

ive decided i want one of these C70's in white with corsair fans with and watercool the cpu with 7950 crossfire :D

were could i mount a HDD if i remove all the cages? as i would like maximum airflow for the GPU's

or could i do the bungee mod from the top 5.25 bays?

If you get rid of the hard drive cages you can fit 240 in the front and 240 in the bottom. The top you can fit 240 or probably 280 as there are 120 and 140mm fan mounts.

^^^ Link doesn't work

sounds good to be bud :D

what rads can fit in the roof? EX240 ok?

240mm's fit in there perfectly, it isn't designed for a 280mm but mine fits in there fine. Just be aware it is too large and will slightly raise up the rear handle indent.

You could either mount your HD's in the 5 inch bays or fit it behind the mobo / behind the 5 inch cage. I just have too many HD's to get rid of the top cage although airflow isn't a problem.

I made some acrylic backplates for mine.

Cut a hole in the side of PSU so you cant see any wires at front.

Also made a acrylic HDD caddy thing with some leftover acrylic.

Replaced the window and etched it.

I made this AMD logo for the graphics card but it added almost 10oc to load temp so I got rid of it.

Looks amazing mate, I love your idea to route the cables out of the side of the PSU, it seems so obvious, but I have honestly never seen anyone do it before. Kudos! :)

What is the Z77 Extreme 4 like? I have the Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 and I have had quite a lot of problems with it (my own fault most likely because I managed to damage it) so I am looking to replace it at some point. :)

I came pretty close to buying a C70, but heard some poor things about the performance.

In the end I went for something a little more understated and got a Fractal Design Arc Midi, which is serving me well.

Its not bad, the only bad point I can think of is the fan headers don't have as much control as gigabyte or asus motherboards.

I'm running a de-lidded 3570K at 4.4 ghz 1.2V 24/7 but I've tested it up to 4.7ghz and was stable.
