Hi Folks,
After reading several reviews Iam still undecided as to which 10.1" tablet
to buy.

I own a Galaxy S II phone so the little size difference between it and a 7" tablet
is why Iam considering a 10.1" one.

Main uses will be:

1. ebook reader (bedroom/bog)
2. some web surfing in living room
3. watching the odd HD mkv tv show / movie (bedroom/bog)
4. some skype/ts3 usage

Iam leaning towards maybe the Samsung tab 2 10.1" 16G, due to it having
a sd card slot for expansion, I like the specs on the Nexus 10 , but not its lack of expandability.

Was also thinking of getting one of those keyboard/case combo's so typing isn't a pita.

Can some 10.1" tablet users give me some opinions please.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Sounds like you spend too much time on the bog :p

Nexus 10?
Galaxy Note 10.1?
iPad?

Couldn't go wrong with any of them really. If you need expandable storage then you're probably stuck with the Notes.

I have the note 10.1 its a great device, only down size is that the resolution is not the best.
I would have got the nexus 10 but the note was on a excellent sale when I got it.

Please state price range. I wouldn't recommend against the Tab 2 as it has a rather out of date dual core chipset now so it would be feel old hat quite fast.

I'm in a similiar situation, I've been mostly considering an iPad or a Nexus 10. My main use will be look at PDFs with fairly small text. I've heard that the Android tablets aren't as good as the iPad for this. I've also checked out the iPad and like the way it handles the PDFs. There are some concerns for me however. It's getting old and I don't think the aspect ratio is great for movies. Also, it's more long-winded to get files on to the iPad.

I've not been able to find any pictures/videos for the Nexus 10 of PDFs with small text or scanned in images. Would anybody be able to help out here? Currently, I'm leaning towards an iPad because of my main requirement and I don't find the OS as ugly.

I absolutely love my Nexus 10. 32GB is a tad limiting, but an OTG cable and memory stick works fine.

Given your main uses, tab 2 is a fitting choice really when considering how much cheaper it is compare to say note or nexus. Obviously as pointed, it is older technology but it's fit for your purpose.....

In terms of pdfs and reading are concern, I have no idea how ipad handles it, I do have a nexus, with Moon reader+ (should be available on tab 2 aswell), and have no problem with pdfs at all, tap upper half screen to go back, bottom half to go forward a page.

And like you said, file transfer and aspect ratio on tab/note/nexus are just much better than ipad.

Thanks Ragingpoo. I don't suppose you have any pictures to show what PDFs look like on a Nexus 10 (I'm surprised it's so hard to find any on the internet...)? Are PDFs easy to read, especially with small text and many pages. There is no lag? Sorry for the many questions, but it's very useful to know!

I'm in a similar boat. If I was going to get the nexus but it would have to be the 32gb because of lack of storage. Yesterday I had a play with the new Sony Xperia Z tablet which is out in two weeks. The specs are very good including quad S4 pro chipset, lovely screen, miscro sd card slot and is waterproof. Factor in that it is only £10 more than the 32gb N10 with more storage options it becomes a no brainer. Its due for release around the 14Apr and Sony are taking pre orders now.

Another cool thing listed on the Xperia Tablet specs is an infra red blaster so you can control your TV/Sky/amp with it just like the HTC One. I think that would be the tablet I'd go for now.
