Non traditional board games

I watched that Dixit video just a day or two ago, quite an interesting concept though I think my clues would all be far too obvious. Probably need to be with fairly creative or well read friends to really make it interesting.
Kinda similar to Fiasco really, I really don't think that I am creative enough to play that game.

Dixit is a superb game. In terms of 'creative' references, the folks we play with use movie, tv show and music references all the time. If you play a lot though, you'll need one or more of the expansions (decks of cards essentially) to keep things fresh.

Am I really reading this right? For Zombicide Season 2 did they put up the Kickstarter for $25000 but instead it reached $1.2 million?!

They knew they were going to blow through that. They're clever enough to realise that it's the stretch goals that get buyers addicted to Kickstarter.

Their first kickstarter raised about $1mil.

We're playing Risk 2210 this Saturday. Not played anything but card games, rummikub, chess and scrabble, so this should be fun. Really looking forward to it! I guess it's pretty traditional as it's based on Risk, but for us its pretty adventurous.

Gonna treat myself to Settlers of Catan and Battlestar Galactica, as they both sound great.

Finally got to play Zombicide (of Kickstarter fame) at the weekend.

It is a good game. Not a great game though. The art work and figures are brilliant, but I really wish they'd play tested the rules properly before releasing.

Now they have expansions coming but still haven't sorted the rules out.

I'm certainly looking forward to playing it again, but I wouldn't call it an amazing game. While there is to an extent the angle that you can aim your clues towards certain players and not others, essentially it is luck based. If the other players have cards which could match what you're saying then you're fine. If everyone has nothing at all useful then you're not going to score much that round.
And creativity doesn't really come into it so much, I'm not a hugely creative person. That said, I'm pretty proud of my clue 'I hate you so much, quit weighing me down!'
My card was obvious, an anchor in a desert somewhere. If I'd simply done the 'quit weighing me down' then it would have been incredibly obvious. But the 'I hate you so much' bit at the front meant that another player was able to play a card which featured a couple arguing or something, and someone assumed the anchor was too obvious.
But again, that's down to luck more than judgement.

So, like I said, a fun game that I'll enjoy playing once in a while, but I don't see it becoming a classic.

According to GamesLore, Munchkin Deluxe is out of stock at their supplier, with no re-printing date currently set... so if you're looking for a copy soon, you'll have to scour other shops for any with stock, as I had to do... (it's cost me ~£4 more than from GamesLore, but it's worth it to keep the GF happy, she likes Munchkin now)

Damn, I wanted to buy that, but not right now.
I guess I need to then.

Where did you get it from?

Didn't realise there was card expansions for the game

I got it from Board Game City.

When I emailed GamesLore I mentioned TableTop, and one of the guys there said that they've noticed a big increase in sales due to TableTop...

Good luck with your search for Munchkin Deluxe. I know that our supplier is the UK's main supplier. But there may be some store in the UK with a copy lingering on their shelf.

The Wil Wheaton Tabletop effect (Sound like an episode of the Big Bang Theory) has had a big impact on quite a few games we sell.

SO many Games I want to buy now...

Ticket to ride (is Europe edition good?)
Pandemic 2013
Alhambra
Carcassonne
Settlers of Catan

Any other recommendations?

E:I already own Star Fluxx and Space Hulk, and I managed to order Munchkin *phew*

I would really like to play Risk but I don't have anyone who would want to play it with me
