Rules seem a bit wonky. The "quick start" is super smooth. Then. Kablaaam! 1000 tokens / mini rules / stuff not explained in rule book.

Took us about 2 hours to crack a mini test game, think we've sussed it now. So shall start a real game on weekend.

I thought that was something the new edition was supposed to fix. I found myself looking at the rulebook more than the board in the original version. It probably would have been easier if the rules were in some sort of coherent order though.

Finally got to play Mombasa last night. I made myself King Banana and dominated on medium value Cape Town shares with a splash in everything else; I finished just ahead of the other two players who went broad and got maximum value Saint Louis shares. Nobody went deep into diamonds or book-keeping, but if someone had they would have been up there on points too. Very good game.

Pandemic is currently £13.94 at the rain forest, well worth the money if you don't already own a copy.
