Hey all, does any one have any recommendations of decent TV's primarily for gaming and maybe a bit of movie watching (generally gaming). Max budget is 500, would prefer 37" and above.

It'll be for my man cave, which is essentially the spare bedroom which I've commissioned! :)

Would prefer as big as possible really, but must be a great gaming tv! :)

When you say gaming tv I assume input lag is important?

If you can dim the lights I would get panasonic 50" ut50 :)

If you would prefer LED then the cheap samsungs are great.
Samsung 46" - UE46EH5000

Both have good reviews on hdtvtest so go check them out.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, I'm in the same position but looking for max 37" due to space. Any recommendations for that (no budget) ??

I've got a similar dilemma as you Hilly, want a TV primarily for 360 + Nextgen console use just not sure what to punt on so I'll be following this with interest.

Unsure on Plasma with the static elements that tend to come with games, bit of a worry for image retention but the screen latency can't be beat. Also would like something with 3D (just incase) but aren't a fan of Active 3D sets to take back to LED from LG or Panasonic.

UT50 will not be beaten for image quality or gaming imo, but you will need to adjust lighting and positioning due to no filter on the set.

it is £600 though for the 50inch

Bit of an old thread now! I've changed plans since this;

Isntead turned the spare room in the man cave and bought 2 monitors and moved the xbox in here; Left the wife downstairs with the normal TV so she can watch her rubbish to her hearts content! :D
