Hi I'm going to be upgrading my system soon with one of the bundles but not sure what to do once I install the hard ware I'm running vista but am going to put win 8 on so do I just boot up and format to put a clean install on then this will install the new hardware onto the system ? I know I'm a noob but any advice is apriciated

That is about it!

Once you've built your system, boot from the CD/DVD Drive and install Windows on whatever drive you want it on.

Providing you've backed-up things you wish to keep first.

Cool easy enough so if I put a ssd in is it the same procedure?

Yes but make sure the BIOS is set to use ACHI not IDE as the SSD will be slow to perform. If you can setup the BIOS before you install on the SSD this will be fine.

What SSD will you be using? Have you updated the firmware on it?

I have not bought one yet just doing the research first as I'm a bit clueless I've never really messed with the bios befor and have no experience with a ssd I was just adding a new motherboard bundle and gpu but some one mentioned it in. A earlier post

OK

When you come to adding the SSD, stick a post on and we'll find you the best deal at that point in time. Don't worry about the BIOS, it's just a simple 2-3 clicks.

60GB isn't worth it unless you have a really tight budget. 120-128GB costs above 30-50% more but offers twice the space and nearly twice the write performance over a comparable 60GB drive. Keep in mind the Windows folder takes up about 15GB of space (my current Windows folder and files are 29GB big after a few years of usage).

My standard recommendations would be a Samsung 840 120GB for a budget performance or a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB for maximal performance.

60gb will just get you your o/s and some space for a few programs and apps, rest would be taken with swap file / cache and VM etc

so all you will get is faster loading time of windows, which isn't what sdd are for, well not for me anyway.

for me sdd are for games, programs etc, to make it all run qiicker / smoother etc so for me i'd get a bigger one, my rule of thumb is same for memory as it is for sdd's, more is always better than faster.
eg 8gb of the fastest ram isn't better than 16gb of the slowest, unless your a benchmark geek.

256gb samsung pro is a great drive, but cost more than the standard version, when price was high, it was cheaper to get 2 low priced 256gb drives for the cost of the fastest.

i know as i bought 2 of the cheapest :) adata ones, worked great for me, so happy with my choice.

but for you, if you want 60gb that's fine, but look at the prices of some of the 128gb /200gb models first as the fastest 60gb today is priced at £89 when you can get a 120gb samsung for the same money.

i know what i'd go for, yes the 60gb is much quicker, but for the same money you can have almost 2X the space and won't notice the speed either, again unless your benchmarking

I'm prob looking at a 60gb is there any you recommend ?
