asus matrix hd7970 platinum not on sale anywhere?

Hi guys,

I cannot see the asus matrix hd7970 platinum card for sale anywhere in UK or even outside of UK? There are a couple of listings on ebay but that's it. Anyone know what's going on with this?

yikes! that sucks... more than a 10% charge just for shipping. have you tried advertising on classified sections of forums? not here, because it requires 1000 posts, but elsewhere?
 
It's general stock shortage of 79's due to a change in roadmap schedule from AMD, the following was in reference to the 7970 DCuII, but I imagine it's applicable for the whole 79 range:

The beacon of hope for this video card is assurance from ASUS that production will be ramping back up for this video card. This is an active model in full production, according to ASUS. The shortage was due to some road map changes and adjustments for the new year. It caused the video card to dry up, and thus that is what we see today. ASUS claims we should start seeing them fill up inventory in a week to a week and a half.

ASUS claims it will have strong supply for the coming months. Therefore, you will just have to wait till mid-March until you are able to find some.

No idea to be honest. I only use this forum so don't know much about other ones. I guess you can't say either because it's against the rules.

Lol. Gpus are beginning to resemble stocks. If you could foresee the roadmap change points and price increases you could actually make a pretty decent margin by buying in bulk prior to the rise and selling afterwards. Or just gamble arbitrarily. Commodities of sorts. :)
