Hi there guys

I'm looking to start my build next week and after doing research over the past week ( at first didn't even know the parts of a PC :p) I think I'm set on these following components.

CPU - Intel Core I3 3220
Motherboard - MSI B75MA P45
Graphics card - EVGA GTX 650
RAM - 8Gb corsair vengeance DDR3 1600MHz
PSU - Corsair 550W
64Gb San Disk SSD (For OS)
3Tb Seagate HDD
Windows 7 64Bit OEM

I'm not going to be overclocking

EDIT: I'm also looking for a keyboard and mouse; nothing fancy. I'd like the keyboard to be backlit but don't really want to spend much on them

Firstly, do you have a case?

Seondly, That build above doesn't fall into your budget.. Do you want us to spec to the budget or improve the build you've suggested?

The 650 is pretty poor, you'd be much better off with a 7850:

This is my take, without a case or OS:

YOUR BASKET
1 x **B Grade** Asus HD 7850 DirectCU II V2 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £129.95
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £92.99
1 x Plextor M5S 128GB Solid State Drive - (PX-128M5S) £82.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001) HDD £71.99
1 x MSI B75MA-P45 Intel B75 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £53.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK) £49.99
1 x Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CW) - Blue Light £37.99
Total : £519.89 (includes shipping : FREE).

Yeah I have a case; I'll be using my dads old case which is configured for mATX, which raises my concern about the 7850. It looks rather large and I think it may be a struggle to fit.

and to spec to the budget. I'm not going to be playing massively graphically demanding games on high e.g BF3, Crysis.

The 7850 should fit, but on that kind of budget, you'll be looking at Trinity!

I would forego the SSD until you have more funds. Also use the Windows 8 evaluation(good for a few months) until you can save for an OS. If you already have a case, then use the money from the Asgard towards your keyboard and mouse.

Gaming, but not massive amounts. ATM I play LoL (I know, I don't need a PC like this for LoL) i'd like to play Sim City. What I meant by the BF3 part was I'm not fussed about playing on max/ultra settings, I'm happy to play on medium settings to keep it quite low budget

Yeah I have a case, and that AsRock B75 Pro3m, Motherboard looks a lot better than that one I'd found

I also think that having looked at the case you've suggested, and looking at the one I plan to use, I may need to get a new case, judging by the difference in the amount of fans.
The motherboard only says it supports 1 chassis fan, 1 power fan and 2 cpu fans? While the case supports if you really wanted 7 fans. Would that just be in case you have motherboards that support that many?

For comparison, my current case has a front 92mm fan, a back 92mm fan and thats all..

How would the Shinobi case work with the ASrock B75 mobo? The case has 2 front USb2 and 1 front USB 3, and the same on the back. While the mobo specs says it supports 2usb 3 and 4 USb2, does it matter they'll be coming from different ends of the case?

Ok thanks Idleman. back to my earlier question, how would the case connect to the USB's at both front and back? Would I need to get some wires or would they be included with the case?

The case only has USB 2.0x4 on the front of the case. These will connect to the mobo via the headers. Access to USB 3.0 will be from the mobo ports at the rear of the case.
