What do you think of these kits? I'm getting ready to buy either, is the D5 pump a worthwhile upgrade over the 750? It's £80 more which stings a little.

I'll only initially be cooling the CPU, with the posibility of later on adding at the most, one gpu into the equation, but I don't even have a GPU worth cooling at the moment, and won't be doing for a long time.

My goal is as silent as possibly, are there any noise issues with either pump?

I'll be using Scythe AP-15's, what do you think about push pull vs either push or pull?

Thankyou.

I have the 750 V4 Bay Pump/Res Combo and it is extremely loud. Not sure if it's a fault or not but be warned if you are changing to water cooling for silence I'd fork out the extra and get the D5.

Oh that's unfortunate :( I wonder if that is common.

I payed for the loop as I want a silent PC and the only thing in the case that you could hear was my GTX 680 under load, CPU cooler was silent with an Apache Black at 600RPM. Now I have the res/pump in and it's louder than my bloody GTX 680.

Can anyone recommend me a way to get a good audio sample as my Nexus 4 seems to cancel out the sound of the pump?

In the same situation here, looking at the 750 and it seems good but hearing about the noise has really put me off. That D5 is quite a bit more though. :(

I have the X2O 750 and whilst it's not silent I wouldn't call it loud exactly, makes a slight humming noise. Certainly much quieter than the fans on a 670 DCII at max.

First try at watercooling so I've never heard a D5 but AFAIK you can control the speed on the D5 whereas the 750 is stuck at max.

I have just been told by XSPC that the noise my 750 V4 is making is "normal" and would advise you all to avoid getting it if that is the case as it is loud as hell and you should just stick to air cooling.

I can safely say if XSPC aren't willing to deem it as faulty and replace it and the new one be quieter I'll likely have to bin my loop and stick my Corsair A50 back on as it was much quieter.

So, are the XSPC D5's quiet? Or is there any other option I should be going for?

I couldn't say personally. They have adjustable pumps though so I imagine that would help a lot. Also try and avoid getting a bay pump/res combo. However non of the XSPC pumps seem to have noise levels in the descriptions so it quiet hard to tell.

My xspc D5 is very quiet and cannot be heard over the noise created by my HDD's and fans. It does create a fair amount of vibration above speed 3 which i use some foam to absorb. If it were bolted to the case it would be fairly noisy.

I have mine mounted to the XSPC acrylic res/top combo, which is easy to isolate from the case. I reckon the bay res would be noisy. It'd be better to go for the pump and a top and use a dedicated res to minimise noise/vibration.

I'm now back on air using just a Corsair A50 and 120mm Apache Black fan and it's both silent and running at pretty much similar temps at 4.2Ghz...

Definitely something wrong going on however XSPC don't agree.

i have the same kit and my pump is silent in fact messing about with it this weekend i have wondered whether it is actually running or not as the molex connector isnt the greatest and ended up taking the 2 pins out the plastsic housing, ive had to put my ear to the front of the res to make sure its running

My EK 2.2 Pump arrived today from a guy on the MM and is absolutely silent, if I put my ear on the pump I can feel it vibrate but that is it. Doesn't pump as much and isn't as powerful but if you want silence get the EK pump.
