Hi there,

Unfortunately last night someone stole my iPhone 4S. While I was pretty wasted sitting in a cab he tried to snatch it out of my hand, after some struggle and my hand bloodied (I guess from his nails digging into my hand) he managed to get away with it.

I've contacted Orange, who know its stolen and have sent out a replacement sim card and barred the old sim.

I've told the police.

What about the phone though? It has a password lock on it but how can I barr the phone?

Can I even do that?

I know the phone is gone, but I just don't want my personal stuff in the hands of someone else.

Thanks for any help!

so you're sat in a cab and someone opens the door and steals it?

my mate lost his abroad. he got another iphone user to remote lock it and bombard it with messages.

i think they shutdown after 5 password attempts anyway.

I was sat in the back seat with the door open while I was waiting for a mate.

Ah ok, just checked iCloud, should have registered on there too.

Thanks for your help guys.

edit: I was not registered on iCloud so can't use Find my iPhone or etc.

Was a minicab so no camera mate.

Thank your lucky stars and go an buy a decent phone rather than a pretentious brick masquerading as a phone.

Don't need to be registered to iCloud, I'm not and I can use findmyiphone. Get on it and see where your Phone is or last registered as active.

Well we called up our insurers and hopefully we can get a replacement, waiting for the police to give me a referral number.

Orange say the sim and Phone is barred now, whats the point in stealing phones now? Sigh.

Ah well, could have been much worse, at least all I have is scratches. Be careful out there people! Learned my lesson.

Thanks for all the help :).

I love this forum. A chap gets his phone nicked and the answer for what to do next is to be grateful and buy whatever skinned to hell POS Android the manufacturers are deciding to support this week.
