New motherboard (sabertooth 990fx r2) SLI question

Hello

I had recently bought and installed this board and everything seems to run as it should, however i am having trouble getting sli to work in the black slot (meant to run at x4) in order for me to have access to the pci slot.

both cards run fine if they are in the x16 slots. (560ti x2) however the second x16 slot is right next to pci, and therefore blocks the slot when one of the cards is in it.

what i would really want is some help in getting the cards to run in the x4 slot.

If you are using slots 1 and 3, then the PCI slot(5) should be clear.

it is clear, but SLI doesnt seem to work when it's in slot 3.

Does it work when you use slot 6?

sorry i dont know the 2 sli cables that i have cant reach that far apart.
1 and 4 are the only slots that i know that sli works on.

Stick one of your cards in slot 3, just to be sure it is actually working. The main problem you will have trying to use other slots will be connecting the sli bridge.

both cards are 100% working, sli works too but only on slot 1 and 4, i need it to work on the black x4 slot instead of 16 so i can fit my sound card.
oh and the slot works too, just not for sli (maybe im missing something.)

Apparently nvidia sli can't run on x4, that sucks

I meant check to see if the slot is working. Just surprised you can`t get sli to work using slots 1&3.

Number 3 is an x4 slot and apparently sli can't use x4 slots, basicly I have to decide to use the crappy onboard sound or get a huge sli cable to link it with the slot on the far back that is x8

or buy a pci e soundcard
