A few benchmarks for you to consider but ignore the games where the 680's are faster than the 7970's because they are rubbish games

Well it seems there's an issue with my card, no idea what as I've triple checked all details. Maybe good for me since I've been in the pub so will have another look tomorrow.

60Hz is bothering me though. It just feels laggy. I'm playing with Vsync off and eating the screen tearing at the mo as that is the least of my worries. Whoever says there's no difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz needs shooting

I'm fairly sure I'll keep it and my BenQ and have the best of both worlds as I'm greedy like that. And I can afford it so what the hell right?

Agree. 60hz hurts the eyes. I just beat Tomb Raider and it's way better at 144hz. 60hz is painful though.

Tomb Raider is fine at 60 Hz. The high resolution IQ improvement more than overrides the negatives from running at 60 Hz in a game like this.

Using a Dell U2711 at 2560x1440 and a Gigabyte WF3 670. I can run BF3 with everything at ultra (8xAA) with around 50-60 FPS.

I'm running my DGM's at 85hz... I always would have chosen 1440p over 120hz, but having an increased refresh AND 1440p is a nice compromise

How did you manage that Andy and is it bad for the monitors life?

My 2713HM runs at 85Hz without any noticeable issues although I run it at 75Hz just to be safe.

EVGA precision 4, pixel clock overclocking

from what I understand a monitor will either work or not work at the rate you set it to, I've not managed to find any cases where someone has overclocked a monitor and significantly reduced it's life span

If you use Nvidia you can set a custom res and refresh rate in the drivers as well.

My MSI GTX670 ran fine with that res but I changed to a HD7970 & it run's better thanx to the bandwith & extra Vram !

Did you run out of VRAM?
