for the last 12 months alls i've heard is how people are turning
to their tablets for their gaming fix.
I just ignored it to be honest.
until i bought a Nexus 7. wow what a breath of fresh air.
don't know if its my age (37) but i was getting bored with my xbox360
but for some reason tablet gaming has got me interested again.
ofcourse it could be just the novelty but i'm enjoying it while it lasts.

anyone else made the switch ?

Shame on you :p

and no, I'll never shun console gaming for tablet gaming. There's fun to be had on tablets, but i simply appreciate console games in terms of storyline/atmosphere on a much deeper level.

I've found myself playing on my phone more than my ps3 or xbox recently its just something different, I've even started using hdmi out and a ps3 controller on it for real racing and modern combat which is quite fun does make you notice the lack of AA going from a 5.5 inch screen to a 23. Looking forward to seeing how the OUYA turns out think it has some potential.

lol fair enough.
forgot to mention if it wasnt for Tiger woods 13
i'd of packed my xbox360 up.

No, mobile games are generally pretty poor in my opinion. I'd much rather play something like Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Forza Horizon etc than anything available for a mobile OS.

I did play Machinarium on my Galaxy Tab because it seemed like the ideal sort of game for a tablet and it was excellent on there, but most of the time they're games designed to be picked up and played in short periods (obviously) so they seldom have the depth or detail of a 'proper' game.

Quite intrigued to see what Breach & Clear will be like though.

yeah i understand your concerns.
but im playing: dead trigger (great fps). virtua tennis by sega and
international snooker and a great little top down car game called
mini motor racing.
all great games and soooo cheap.

Nope, I have an iPad and never use it for gaming really. I don't like the control method on any "proper" games, the fact that half the time your fingers hide the display don't help. Generally if I want mobile gaming I'll use my Vita or 3DS and I'll use the iPad for surfing the web, reading magazines etc.

I couldn't even think of it as a replacement.

Indeed. Since I've got my iPad mini, my consoles have barely got a look in. Even the Steam stuff is being mostly ignored. A lot of the indie games on Steam such as Spacechem, Bastion, World of Goo, Anomaly Warzone Earth, Eufloria, etc. I've repurchased on iOS and I'm playing other goodies such as GTAIII, Vice City, Chinatown Wars, Shardlands. Happy to hear that the full XCOM game is coming across, too.

I thought I would miss the big screen but no, everything looks fine and dandy. Might invest for the proper iPad now that I've tested the waters with a mini.

i recently got myself a nexus 7 also, once rooted it's a excellent little handheld device, good for Mame also. Real Racing 3 is taking my time at the moment

I use my ipad all the time for games, there are some really good ones on there too,
i'm liking the modern combat games.
Maybe people just dont have the time anymore to sit in front of a t.v for there gaming fix ?

I have only ever shunned home consoles for handhelds (Pokemon etc...) and my PC (Pretty graphics). Never will a tablet have anything that good to play.

I game primarily on PC, but then it's ipad. Haven't turned the 360 on for months, the Wii for years!

Baldurs gate on the ipad is pretty epic.

Ipad 3 + Icade + Any Llamasoft game = retro heaven

Gridrunner is tremendous as is Minotaur Rescue, Goatup 1+2, Minotron, SuperOx Wars, etc
