*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

In the back of my mind I have been thinking I'll swap out my unlocked S3 for this if anything just to take advantage of the extra data speed on Three. However at these prices I'm happy to wait, the S4 will almost definitely drop in price more over the coming months than the used price of the S3. I would be willing to bet by July/ August time the S4 will drop to closer to £4xx money. At £630 you are much better off on contract than off ( well looking at Threes deals anyway)
Wonder if there will be a difference in the price of Octa vs Snapdragon ? to future proof your 4g connectivity options sounds like the Snapdragon is the best route (Octa has some LTE bands but not all from what I have read).

This is all because I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed and take the two steps to my computer this morning when it was £529 :p

But they all cover themselves in regards to mispricing don't they?

Well we'll just have to wait and see what transpires, IMHO these are just pre availability prices or legal price setting for future "sales" but arguing the toss is redundant until we see what the companies do, I'll just point out that we always see these kind of price reports then within 4/6 months it's £395 on Amazon de.

BB sell the z10 to retailers for $256 and that's not regarded as aggressive the market expected at least $10 less so because of the perceived margin increase BB share price went up.

They've said above that they'll honour it but all I was saying is that technically I don't think they had to.

So why have they gone for such a high price? The rainforest is showing £629 as well :S

Was thinking of selling my S3 to a colleague and getting it but that price :o

IMHO it's because the phone isn' rt actually available so no loss of sales from high price then you can go overboard with the £129 OFF sale or just to exploit early adopters or they don't know the price so set a price that is higher than any conceivable price point again for legal reasons so they can't under charge or for the afore mentioned sales pricing.

makes sense.. high price.. sale when released.. = more dosh..

but there was no price announced so you could be right on that bit too..

Can't do that, to be able to advertise something as being 'on sale' then it has to have been available and sold for the higher price for at least 30 days.

on xmas put the price down to 329:eek:

As people have said, samsung is the android apple so they can overcharge on everything and no doubt start bringing out samsung only connectors and cables.

Just need HTC to get their act together and become the king of android again.

Ordered the black 16gb model on the One Plan for £37 a month with Three. My S2 has been absolutely balls for data on Vodafone and I've started tethering to my Nexus 10 recently so looking forward to better speeds. :)

they will not overcharge.. 500 is the normal price this is a pre-release price.. wait for it to actually be released and demand to drop a little bit and the price will stabilize like it does with all the phones! :) some makers slash the prices because they simply don't meet their targets..

There is no way in the world that the GS4 should be priced above the HTC One or Xperia Z - what extra does it bring to the table? Completely ridiculous pricing to fleece the early-adopters.

I thought the competitive Nexus 4 pricing was meant to bring pricing down generally. Android flagships this year are priced higher than they've ever been.

What's the current best deal out there at the moment?

Currently with T-Mobile on an 18 month contract that ended a few weeks ago and they want silly money!
