Hello!

What would your dream PC be?

If you had an unlimited budget what PC would you build and what spec?
Be interesting to see what you guys would come up with :D

Probably something with:
A couple of high res 27" screens
At least 6 4GHz cores
32 GB RAM
8TB storage

And it needs to be the same size and weight as my MacBook Air ;)

3930K w' custom loop
24GB+ of RAM
a pair of titans
512GB SSD
About 6TB of storage
Essence STX (very important :p)

900d
3930x
64gb of dominator ram
3x wc titans
2x480 rads
360 rad
240 rad,
2x d5 pumps
frozen q res
ek blocks (cpu,gpu,mobo,ram cooling)
10 x 500gb ssd's in raid.
thats my dream

I'll post, because I'm probably not the only person here who wants a beowulf.

Right now, the preferred hardware is:
Intel S1200KP, an ecc friendly m-itx board with two nic's. About £150
Xeon E3-1275 v2 or similar - four cores at 77W. Also about £150
16gb of ecc ram £100 or so
EK cpu block £30
150W pico-psu £20

That lot comes to £450, ish. Throw on some overhead for networking, part of a radiator and 12V PSU and call it £500.

The issue is that I then want as many of those as I could possibly have. 64 would just about fit into a 6kW thermal envelope, so I'd like 64 of them for 32 grand please.

probably just a watercooled version of what I currently own, but with a second titan. wouldn't feel comfortable fitting waterblocks on such expensive gcards though lol. Thought it was nerve wracking enough doing it on 2x £380 cards around 15 months ago!

If I had that kind of money to throw on a PC (lucky you :p) I would buy two pre-blocked Titans, and then pay someone to build the system for me :D

Even better, make a custom order from OcUK and spend a day there with them while they build it :)

You do almost litterally have my dream PC.

3930K - check
16GB+ RAM - check
Pointlessly high clock speed on RAM - check
Samsung 840 Pro - check
A decent amount of storage space - check
TITAN - check
600T Silver - check
Seasonic PSU - check
Mechanical keyboard - check

Only things I would change are having a custom water loop, a different motherboard, probably a lower wattage PSU (1050 maybe), and more storage :D

Everyone nicking my 'stupid basket' idea

When I did it, I at least made a system that would work! :D

However, I would gladly take 10 TITAN's for £8 :p

Yeah pre blocked titans are definitely a good idea when the gpus cost this amount of money! I really miss watercooling as its just great, but the titan is so damn quiet, even at full load, Its not really required tbh.
