Thinking of going out for a couple of drinks on my own

Had a couple of beers, don't know anybody that wants to go out tonight, would you do it, live in a medium sized city. Done it a couple of times before and generally talked rubbish to bar staff. But is a bit intimidating and possibly sad?

Personally I don't see any reason why I'd want to go out alone for some drinks. I just wouldn't find it an enjoyable experience.

Should I want them I can have them cheaper at home, with a comfortable sofa/chair/tv/internet/games/etc.

Not done it with pubs, but done it loads of times at dance clubs (Godskitchen, Sundissential, Gatecrasher etc) as you're there for the music. This expanded to using the Sundissential forum and ended up meeting people that way so I wasn't going by myself any more.

Well it depends whether you just want to have alcohol - if so, buy some from an off license or supermarket and stay at home - or if you want to go and socialise and meet people, in which case go out.

I will sometimes pop out to a pub to grab a pint etc. It may seem sad to some but I find it enjoyable to go and just think about things. I would liken it to someone who visits a coffee shop or something.
