Thinking of going out for a couple of drinks on my own

I wouldn't personally (I'd stay at home and watch TV / play a game with a couple of drinks instead), but if you feel comfortable then go for it. It certainly isn't "sad".

Jesu, I thought everyone went out alone.

When I used to drink to excess I would go somewhere everynight, very often on my own.

I like my own company and it never bothered me. I got chatted up a few times as well. Even by blokes on a few occasions.

Go and get your daily beer ration now, but I would strongly advise from experience, don't get absolutely smashed on your own. Unless youre at home.

Only time I go to the pub alone is when I want to get some studying or reading done. Can't stand the library or coffee shops etc. But I couldn't see myself taking a full night out on my larry.

I'd probably have a few drinks at home simply because it's more comfortable and I can watch a film. But I've done it in the past and can't see a probloem with it. Who cares what other people think.

Depends on the type of establishment, I wouldn't go to a club on my own but a old folks pub on a quiet night...yeah why not.

Nah if its a old folks pub, you can turn up say 10pm...it will start to have emptied and just the old regs left in the place.

Then you can be in the craic, you have to have a bit of natural confidence though.

when I used to tour, I would find myself in strange city, with no one to go drinking with,

I am a confident person, and would head out myself,

I have had some cracking nights this way, in old man pubs, chatting to locals, playing pool etc,

once I tagged onto a stag night in Nottingham, had a cracking night.

I see nothing wrong with going out myself
