How would you feel if the new PS4 & next gen xbox came out with roughly the same hardware specs as the lastest wii U..

Would you still buy them ??

I'd stick with my 360 and PS3 seeing as there about the same level as a Wii U anyway.

I don't see the point of this thread really

What an entirely random post!

What would you do if they had the same specs as the Atari 2600!!!

Wii U cannot even play dvd's let alone Blu-Ray's therefore it would in fact make it worse than a PS3, Wii U is simply a kids orientated console or for people who aren't really into gaming. Anyone aged 12+ who is into gaming would use a PS3 or 360 over a Wii U, they are completely different products. Imo Nintendo will most likely retract from the console market soon enough with tablets, phones, etc being able to offer the similar experiences.

What a stupid post, why would anyone buy them if they were the same as current gen (which the Wii U is pretty much). That plus we already know they'll be a lot better.

Wealready know they will be a mile better in terms of hardware specs.

I honestly don't see the obsession with specs though tbh, its the games and gameplay that make any system. The only thing that really matters about the hardware nowdays is whether or not its easy to develop for, and it will support evolutionary progress.

Specs allow new game play experiences if used properly, destructible environments etc. Whilst specs shouldn't be the only thing that matters there's no excuse for Nintendo putting so much of the machines cost into the controller and having poor specs for the actual console.

Im pretty sure i read this a while back:

To be fair as long as Nintendo fix the OS and the hard locks, I don't actually care about the power of the system etc. I only buy Nintendo consoles for first party games any way.

To some part i agree about better specs giving different experiences, but you can't really apply that argument to nintendo. They create new experiences their own way, in this case with the new controller. IMO i prefer that to a spec bump, as the stuff you can do with the controller is far more interesting - again in my opinion.

No doubt there'll be some great games on PS4/nextbox, and i'll likely pick one up, but the hardware specs on the wii u aren't it's selling point.
