UK schools ban children from making best friends

Were your parents passed to home school you or were they in & out of court all the time trying to get you to go to school?

No there was no court or trouble from school council thing (cant remember what they were they called back then).

I got expelled for never going. I found a job just before my 13th birthday. Everyone seemed to forget about me until my mum complained when I was nearly sixteen that I should take some exams.

Brother schooled me through my mock exams, but I hurt my back just before exams so only took Commerce & Physics O' level and passed both.

I was youngest of six kids so my parents were happy I was going to work earning my own money.

In my view we should put in law just the first bit.

UK Schools Ban Children.

ignore the making friends bit they can do that with all their spare time when they're not down pit or up chimneys.

Top idea, and when the teachers go on strike,no child will lose out on valuable schooling.

When was 'back then'?
I was a 13 year old in 1971 and there was no way that a child would have been forgotten about and allowed to work full time at 13.

I was born in 69 and kicked out of school November 82.

After 4 months they got me interviews at 4/5 other local schools but no one would take me. (I was a bit wild)

I should have had a home school teacher but there were none available and then we didn't here anything else.

I became lost in the system but found a nice job working in a video library and helped out my brother some evenings (he was an electrician)
