Gelid Tranquillo missing fittings

So I bought a Gelid Tranquillo as part of a build for my Nephew (spec below). I noticed a screw was missing for the bracket that connects to the base of the heatsink so thought I would batter on, however I found more fixtures were missing and they were not in the box or bag.

I suspect the 'seller' in question took vital mounting parts from this kit and then sold it on, however it's too late now to return it as it was purchased on 24 February

I would have bought from OcUK however they did not stock the Tranquillo at the time of ordering. The system is not going to be Overclocked so I really don't need this cooler but wanted to keep the system nice and quiet.

Looks like I will be using the stock Intel carp with the push pin 'hope for the best it doesn't fall off' configuration now.

Moral of the story? Don't buy from anywhere else but here !!

Have emailed the seller to explain the situation. Thing is the cooler is useless without the fittings and im £25 out of pocket. You live and learn I guess. Besides the stock cooler will be fine, but I always think it will fall off with that push pin mounting system.

Going to finish the build tomorrow and use the stock intel cooler. The motherboard tray has a cut out anyway, should I wish to fit a cooler with a backplate at a later stage. Any tips as to fitting the stock cooler? The intel push pin system always seemed a bit dodgy to me tbh.

Fit the cooler before you install the motherboard into the case.

That way you can provide support from the back while pushing the pins through.

From memory the last time I use one of these I did one corner, then the diagonally opposite one and then the last two.

The Gelid Tranquillo is a great cooler and one i would certainly suggest for your application.

we made the decision a few months back to stop selling Gelid products.

this had nothing at all to do with their reliability or quality and was entirely down to how they wished their products to be distributed and also how our sales were going.

put bluntly, we don't sell Gelid anymore because the sales simply aren't there.

The issue you have experienced can happen sometimes and I have known it to happen often with products even from the biggest manufacturers. Whilst I can appreciate that it is very frustrating to have a system build held up by missing parts, it is not the fault of the reseller.

If your product came from a reputable reseller, I am sure that they will do everything within their capability to resolve the issue.

Whilst we do not allow discussion in a positive way about our competitors on our forums as it is obviously detrimental to business, we also encourage our forum members to not speak negatively about our competitors also. This way it keeps everything above board.

If you have no luck with the reseller, please contact me and i can get you in touch with the distributor for Gelid products so that you can request a return/replacement.
