god please let it be true.....

Absolutely nothing about that makes commercial sense, so I can't see it being true. This is the company that dropped the 3 door Clio because they didn't sell enough.

However I can see it being launched as a FWD with small twin cylinder engines as a Fiat 500 rival, with this just being a big of fun as a 1 off to launch it.

I hate renaults current look, the Clio looks rubbish and so does this. But yeah, would like to see them build it. Almost bought a phase 1 v6, regret not going through with the deal. would have been great in the winter.

If Renault did build this it's likely to be uncompetitive on price., so unless you really have a passion for the Clio then there will be better cars available.

soon to be found on its roof in a mcdonalds car park near you,

now if they can stick a tunable lump in let it into the wild as rwd and under 15k i'm tempted ;)

If this does happen it will go the way of that 4WD Audi A1 and be a massively overpriced limited run that misses the point.

Release this as a FWD with the 1.6 turbo that easily goes above 200bhp for £cheap and its a winner.

would be the way for any sane company to do its business,

small cheapo hatchback fwd with a decent amount of poke will sell by the bucket load,

that said Renault have a history of bonkers hatch backs, Clio V6 etc.

i'm just hoping for a bit of French lunacy for buttons might be on the cards here.

I see a huge gap I the market for a cheap rwd hot/warm hatch thousands up and down the country have the mindset that rwd is king when it comes to all things motors related thanks to the motoring press and TV programs lording it as the best way to drive a car, as a manufacturer if you can produce a rwd hot hatch especially if it is available to the masses in terms of price your onto a winner

I was going to say the same thing. The v6 was a death trap. Such a short car with rwd is not a good idea. I am hoping they release it though even if its to just cull some chavs! :D

Surely the issue with the Clio V6 wasn't the RWD, it was the engine at the back!

Indeed

Small red cars are immense fun.

E30 bmws down to stuff from my teenage years like mk2 escorts chevettes starlets corollas etc etc

It will surely cost a small fortune. Engineering a completely specific chassis for a one off small volume model? £25k and above!
