Rattling around camera lens.

On my Galaxy Ace 2, if I tap around the camera, I notice a slight rattling sound. If I put the camera on, focus on something and tap around the camera again, it's even more noticeable.

Is this normal? Just something to do with the auto-focus? Their are no problems with the camera that I'm aware, it takes pictures fine and focuses fine.

From Googling it seems many different phones are affected with this, can anyone confirm what it is?

Cheers

It's not unusual, as long as the camera works fine don't worry about it (please for the love of god).

Haha. :D

I do remember having this issue on most of the handsets I've had before aswell in the past. It's just annoying for me personally because every time I lay it down on a hard surface I can hear a rattle. :p

*tom_d.. buys a new phone.. mobiles forum full of new thread about rattly cameras, shiny plastics, broken mics etc* dude :D just buy a zonda phone.

I'd still find something wrong with that. ;)

Just curious, that's all. :) Would like to know why it actually rattles.

I'd like to know why you were tapping the camera

Do you buy kit then Google for problems to test for ?

OT......

Is there a term for " technological hypochondriac"

I noticed it every time I put the phone down on a hard surface or something, then I investigated further to find the source of the problem. I'm not to bothered by it, just wanted to know the reason as to why it rattles. Seems to be mixed explanations on Google, but obviously it's something to do with the camera as it rattles more when shooting a picture.

my s2 for e.g. has a little "spring" like action inside when i tap it :) no idea what it is and i don't really care..

It's safe to assume this is just normal then and something to do with the camera focus?

Camera lens focusing involves mechanical parts. It's fine, try shaking anything that has mechanical components and you'll probably get a rattle. I wouldn't advise you do it on a laptop with a mechanical harddisk though.

I think I can fully stop being bothered about it now. Read Google lots about it and it seems to happen on a LOT of different phones, any that have an auto focus.

My one S, spica, bro's desire and parent's lumia 800's don't have a rattling sound, better return the device ASAP ;) :p

I wouldn't worry about it, if the photos are fine and the camera works as it should then why worry :)

Tom D - buy another Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 620, O2, 130 quid I think. You can test that all over again! You did have valid concern about the multi touch issue, although never was an issue on my phone. I love this phone, think you should give the Lumia another try

The Lumia was a good device, the way Skype worked with it was absolutely shambolic though.

So no one else here notices a rattle type sound when tapping around your camera lens? Have to use a bit of force.
