Bioshock 3 - Infinite

Really good game, enjoyed it a lot. Well worth the cash I paid!

I probably won't bother with the 1999 mode for a bit, got plenty of other games to play. But I did play through on Hard. Steam reckons a solid 13 hours played so far.

The only really hard fight in the game was the lady Comstock ghost fights, especially the first one. I wound up out of ammo, with no way to get more guns, and I died a lot before I figured out I could just cheese it and ignore the zombies.

For me it just felt like those particular fights weren't balanced that well compared with the rest of the game, especially when there was no way to restock guns/ammo mid fight.

Yeah definitely hard to stop thinking - still reading, still watching videos, listening to the music. Tried to go and do other things or play other games, but it's useless - can't help but keep going over this in my head!

Can't bring myself to do a second playthrough yet - probably won't end up doing that until DLC, then I'll hit 1999 mode. But it's going to take quite a few days for the mind to digest it and let go.

I agree most of the fights weren't particularly challenging, in that it's hard to die (and even when you do, you only lose a bit of cash).
The points I struggled (died) a few times were
- near the beginning when the police come knocking on that house where you're hiding - found it pretty hard to deal with them rushing in and swarming you.
- the fight with a handyman, when Fitzroy shoots Fink; had to redo this a few times.
- the end defending the airship.

Funnily enough I found the Lady Comstock fights pretty straightforward, courtesy of Return to Sender - just blocks all her attacks, and with Elizabeth throwing salt at you, you've got enough to last while making occasional use of cover and liberal use of weapons.

With the airship I finally got it by having Songbird focus on the zeppelins, while using a mixture of possession and return to sender while standing in front of the generator (to protect it) and sniping everything. Occasionally skylining up to the high ground with sniper ammo, before coming back down.

Return to sender is essentially limited god mode - makes the game so easy (apart from the final battle) once you get it.

Wow the default mouse settings are terrible, even with mouse accel off it was swingy. Had to do quite a few config tweaks to get it feeling right :( if dishonored can get it right out the box no reason why other games built on unreal engine can't.

I just completed this too, the fact that I'm coming in here which I rarely do just to say it is a fantastic game says it all really.
The characters, storyline, visuals, gameplay, soundtrack and atmosphere were all very well done and make you believe you're in Columbia.
I'm actually a little sad it's over now.

The big fight on The Hand of the Prophet was really easy with the item of gear (vest IIRC) that gives you a few seconds invincibility when you jump off a sky-line, just jump off and on and nothing affects you.

D3doverrider on/off, vsync on/off, changed config settings, graphics settings... STILL jerky when loading areas. Eugh I give up.

Just completed it an I feel a bit sad that it's over. I felt the same when I completed Skyrim, but this was a much better experience overall. I actually cared about the characters and was on the edge of my seat in the last 25 mins.

It'll be a very long wait now for something else as epic to come along :(.

Anyone managed to complete all 50 achievements yet ? I'm not taking your word for it, I want a screenshot :p

I've just looked over what I have left to do and a couple of them seem impossible. Going to give it go though.

Yep. Had to spend a bit of time tweaking that too. It's been such a while that I've played an FPS for this long I almost had to get used the the mouse movements again.

Completed the game on 1999 mode but didn't get my achievement :(

Had to crack though and buy stuff from the vending machine.

Totally agree for an fps they made it pretty hard to aim out of the box

Well just completed it and what a great game however had a problem with the ending.

Just watched the ending again on youtube and apparently my game skipped part of the ending. When you go to the lighthouse for the last time and you are about to get baptised again my game completly skipped the part where all the elizabeths turn up so I missed to most important part about dewitt being comstock. Anyone elses game do this?

Yep mine did, had to rewatch on youtube for any of it to make sense, pretty annoying.

For the Possession vigor, is the human possession upgrade only single-use? Like do you have to keep buying it again and again to keep using it?

I've definitely bought it before, like twice, but it doesn't work on humans anymore.

Just about to pick this game up soon, but is it worth getting retail or download version?
In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xIKN1d1vGI) the cover of the game says the the original Bioshock is included. Now i know this is the PS3 version, but does it come on the PC version to? I loved the original Bioshock, and I would really like to replay it on PC, just wondering if that was the case.

No, once it's upgraded it should be good for the rest of the game. Unless it's some strange bug.
