Good place to visit in North of Edinbrough

As above, but on the way to Inverness. Preferably south or at least no more north than Perth. Have a little one and needed somewhere interesting and fun to stop with him on the way.

Depends on what the wee yin likes, there is a visitor centre or walks etc all round that area.
 
Is it still in or around the roads you would be following to Inverness?

He'll like the chance to run round outdoors!
 
Aviemore?

That's north of Perth :p Although if you were willing to travel that far before you stopped there's the Highland Wildlife Park just before you get to Aviemore.

Sticking with the animal theme then Blair Drummond Safari Park? Or nothing to do with animals, Stirling Castle?
 
Come to abz, we'll get your kid trained in our boozy Scottish ways and hook him up with a filthy student Quine.

Or just try The Highlands if you have the time and effort in you. It's an amazing place there and up to the NW.
