What the average House prices where you live ??

I just done a little searching and I can't believe how cheap houses prices are in England...

Says average House prices are only around £238,293  that crazy low

No idea on average but round here you are looking at £50-60k for a terraced house, £120-140k will buy a 3 bed detached with garage

Sarcasm? That's not low imo.

I'd say average in Leicester for a 2/3 Bed Terrace is £100k.

Average for a 3 bed semi is around £190k for non-new build.

Average for 3 bed detached varies but on average, £220k seems like a good midpoint.

Though I'm only basing it on the areas I know (which is most of Leicester)

Around £500k as the average across all property types. For a detached property it would be around 700k.

For clarity- I live in berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

It is still a lot cheaper than central London where we used to live. Our two bed apartment in Maida vale is worth as much as a detached house in berkhamsted.

EDIT: That seems a bit wrong to me though as it says a terraced is now worth more on average than a semi. I guess it must be down to the actual locations of each I suppose, with the terraced houses being in more desirable parts of Claygate? Shrugs.

that site shows the averages here as

Detached £176,402

Semi £105,221

Terraced £89,538

Flat £64,032

Those prices seem quite a bit on high side to me

Using the above site;

Detached - £759,328
Semi - £385,471
Terraced - £286,643
Flat - £217,293

I'm never gonna be able to afford to buy my own place :p

Mind = Blown. You need 180k for a flat round here. I knew there was a bit of a north/south divide but not that much! Do the wages vary that much aswell?

The 4 bed with garage and three berth drive I'm in atm cost less than £180k.

Wages do vary considerably yes, but not as much as house prices do.

I can't see how these prices are sustainable long term.
