So I'm building a budget build for gaming and video editing mostly and since I'm on a tight, limited budget I cant really go all in on a discreet gpu, but still want some gaming potential and performance.

What about the AMD's APU Dual Graphics capability ? Will it be enough to play modern games on medium settings ? I planning to play Arma 3 to be exact. Currently my build looks something like this

APU: AMD A10 5800K
MOTHER BOARD: ASRock FM2A75 Pro 4
RAM: Crucial Spectek 2GB (1600 Mhz) (2x)
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 500 GB 7200 rpm (probably 2x)
POWER SUPPLY:TECNOWARE CORE ATX 550W - 23.61

+ a Radeon HD 6670 1gb GDDR5 GPU for Hybrid Crossfire/Dual Graphics.

You can do a lot better for around £500..

Firstly, don't skimp on the PSU..

Secondly, OCUK's B grade section is a very good place to pick up a deal..

This is what i'd go for:

YOUR BASKET
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC Windforce 2X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ Nexuiz, Sleeping Dogs & Dirt Showd (GX-100-GI) £129.95
1 x **B Grade** Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £125.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £55.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK) £49.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £39.95
1 x **B Grade** Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black £37.16
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 (MB-364-GI) £35
1 x Thermalright True Spirit 120 REV A [BW] Performance CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £24.98
1 x OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.98
Total : £534.50 (includes shipping : £13.75).

MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than your spec.

Or this (though the 8150 isn't as good as the 2500:

YOUR BASKET
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC Windforce 2X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ Nexuiz, Sleeping Dogs & Dirt Showd (GX-100-GI) £129.95
1 x **B Grade** AMD Bulldozer FX-8 Eight Core 8120 Black Edition 3.10Ghz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £79.99
1 x Gigabyte 970A-DS3 AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £56.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £55.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK) £49.99

1 x Thermalright True Spirit 120 REV A [BW] Performance CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £24.98
1 x OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.98
Total : £508.99 (includes shipping : £12.50).

Thank you for your advice ! But since I'm on a really tight budget , I can't go over 350 pounds at this time. What I'm planning to do is do a cheap build and upgrade in the future.

I do like you're FX 8120 build tho, looks really good. What If I add a 7850 to the A10 5800K APU? Is it a lot slower than the Bulldozer ?

In terms of the PSU, I also have a Gigabyte ATX 2.3 570W option which is a bit more expensive, but would it make much of a difference ?

so yeah, is the A10 + HD6670 a bad combo?

Maybe you could do a cheaper build that's around 350 pounds that would be better than my setup?

Ahh okay, didn't realise your budget was so tight.

The 8120 or 2500 will help with video editng as they have more cores/thread. Which are used in that line of processing.

The A10 is a good choice though i would personally choose the i3 2120/3220.

Hmm, that PSU doesn't sound great either. You better off getting a PSU from OCZ, Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Silverstone or antec

so yeah, is the A10 + HD6670 a bad combo?

No, not atall.. Just thought you're budget could be pushed a little further for much better performance.

Maybe you could do a cheaper build that's around 350 pounds that would be better than my setup?

I will give it a go.

@Doomedspeed - Thanks for all the advice, I really appreciate it.

@snip86x - Thanks for the build, looks really good!

You guys are giving me a lot of options, thus making my choice even harder lol, but thank you for all the support.

Using B grade to get you the most for your cash, the mobo might need sata cables however but they aren't dear. No GPU as I would search around for a 2nd hand 1GB 460 or a 6850 (~£50)
