Here are some that I found yesterday at Castle Combe. It seems race goers have a pretty decent taste in cars! Except for the Romanian twingo, that was plain odd.
Dear god it was freezing though, ridiculously so. I was amazed how busy it was considering the drab and horrible weather, so fair play to all those that came out to watch the racing.
No idea what alfa this is or if it’s just a kit car, but it was lovely.
The merc was just about the most imposing thing in the paddock.
Loved this Porsche, although apart from the fact it says GT2 on the back, I have no idea if it’s the genuine item or not. Anyone care to tell me exactly what it is?
This Ferrari 355 turned up after I had taken photos of the AMG black series so I went back to it.
This is the odd twingo, it had wheels that were far too wide for it and just looked strange on them.
Can’t be many of these around, and I want one badly. A Volvo V70 R.
This Jetta was lovely, couldn’t find a single thing I didn’t like about it.
RS4 with obligatory roof rack.
Alpina D5 Biturbo. Never seen one of these before and must be pretty rare.
A Ford Popular hot rod.
And then from the top of quarry corner, I spotted a few others in the car park below. First was this supposed 355, but for some reason it didn’t look quite right to me so could be a replica.
Love the look of these imprezas. First one I’ve seen in this style.
Who ever drove this Caterham to the track must have been mental. It was barely 2 or 3 degrees and was frequently snowing!
A new merc A250. Quite a handsome thing I think.
This E21 3 series was lovely.
This Capri was immaculate. Can anyone tell me what engine it has? All it said on it anywhere was “injection” and I know there have been a few different motors in these.
A completely unmodified (well, it looked it to my eyes) and unblemished MK1 Golf.
After my walk around the track, I came back to find this Testarossa, that the owner had irritatingly parked in a spot that was difficult to photograph, so this was the only decent angle available. Shame because I love the vents on the sides of these.
RS6 Saloon.
And finally, I found these two parked opposite my car when I went to leave.
