Bioshock 3 - Infinite

For me it is. I think tomb raider had higher lauch sales, but there is a massive fanbase for the TR franchise.

I just hope that Infinite sells enough to cover the $200 million they spent developing and marketing the game. I read an article that worked out they would have to sell 8 million copies of the game to break even. Which doesn't sound like a lot when you think there are 60 million peeps in the UK alone. But Bioshock 1 only sold 4 million as of March 2010 according to Wikipedia.

Problem with tomb raider is it was cool to play through but I was quite suprised how quickly it ended... Once it is over there is no real replay value after you have done the few optional tombs... Shame it did not have more content or replay value because it was fun. Bioshock however looks like something I would like to play through more than once just for the fun of it.

Wasnt too keen how side objectives were handled.

You could view them in the objectives tab, but you couldnt get any hints in-game if you were stuck. All you heard were the characters mention an ingame area once, and once only. From there on in its down to memory/google.

You couldnt make it your primary objective either, so more often than not i'd just give up and just plod on with the main story..Probably missed out on a fair few voxaphones/infusiuons due to this.

Also found ammmo very hard to come by, found myself using the random weapons on the ground more than the ones i wanted to use...annoying.

completed this last night at like 1am lol, very tired today!
1. So Booker was just a younger Comstock that presumably had become evil/devoted to his daughter over time
2. Anna is not Elizabeth? right? so who the hell is Elizabeth? just some random girl?
3. The Rapture bit was AWESOME and will so be playing Bioshock 1 now.

great game though, will have to rewatch the ending tonight I think.

2. wrong...ANNA = ELIZABETH

I'm quite sure there will be some DLC.....

Yea, I managed to do a few and did one by accident but it's almost impossible to know where you actually need to go for them and when. Completing some of them meant a lot of traipsing about areas with no actual action to break up the drudgery.

I'm playing on normal and for the most part I never had a problem with ammo... I think it depends what weapons you are using, some weapons I always had full ammo whilst others I was running low sometimes. For example, I was always full up on carbine ammo but found that I got low on machine gun ammo in bigger fights. Even then though.

Elizabeth was always throwing me ammo. I think whilst some people might see that as a move to appease the casual player I really think it works. For me it's more fun to be thrown some ammo than to run out completely then running about like a headless chicken trying to find ammo or an alternate weapon which I don't want to use.

I think I finally settled on the best weapon combo, carbine and shotgun for me. Tried using the bust and machine guns but they just seemed inefficient compared to the mightily accurate carbine.

I'm finding, almost obviously, that as I get more mana bars I'm using vigors a lot more in combat and it can be a lot of fun. Bronco + Carbine and Shotcun + Charge are my favourites.

Ammo/health is absolutely everywhere lol, not sure how you could run out?

There's vending machines around every corner which I used to constantly stock up. Was always full on everything.

Hi all

I've just gotten up to the point where you find the tortured chinese man, as a percentage how far is this through the game?

I'm taking it very slowly, not had much time to play

Also can someoen explain gear to me? I keep finding loads of it, but I don't see any gear equip menu or anything.

I'd say about 40%.

You can compare it to what you're wearing, think it was J you press to compare or H to equip.

Thanks

If you equip some gear, is the previous lost?

I have no idea what I have equipped currently. Seems a rather strange system.

Also hard difficulty seems kinda easy. Don't run out of ammo with hotgirl throwing you more everytime :)

Doubt this will sell 8m it sold less than Tomb Raider @ launch in UK & UK has more like 70-75m people not 60m come to London you will see the shocking truth

This is a solid game but to break even @ 8m is a big ask there is little replay value on offer sadly :(

Ammo is plentyful, just not for the weapon i want to use, when i have it.

Equip hand cannon, encounter 40 minutes of nothing but repeater/shotgun ammo.

Get fedup of 0/24 ammo hand cannon, pick up shotgun, experience 40 minutes of nothing but hand cannon/heater ammo. Running out of shotgun ammo once again.

The game just never seemed to drop ammo for the actual weapon/s i have equipped. bar when ammo is fed to you through Liz

Thats why the capacities are so low. They try to force you with the stupid 2 weapon slot mechanic to constantly swap your guns. Hell, there is even a piece of gear that creates a ghostly ally from your gun if you throw it down to swap weapon. A mechanic completely at odds with there own system of limited upgrades. I tried to stick with my Shotgun because it combined nicely with my Charge + amplify damage gear and swapped the second gun around frequently. But even that gets you into trouble sometimes cos the ammo capacities are that low.

You can almost always buy ammo, it's really cheap.

Vending machines aren't that numerous. You can quite easily use up your entire supply of ammunition for automatic weapons in some fights. You mostly have to hope that Elizabeth will chuck you a fresh gun (which nicely bypasses reloading too) or immediately swap your weapon for the 1 the enemies are using.

Yeah you're almost shoehorned into using a new weapon every segment, which is frustrating when you've bought the improvements to weapon A only to never find ammo for weapon A.
