Just installed a xigmatech dark night with dual fans so hoping to overclock this chip :) looking around i see most people are oc'ing it to 4.5, I have a z77-d3h board :) anyone guide me through this? thanks

Well on my 3770k i did this:
45x100
1.30V
and was stable
so I started to decrease the voltage by 0.01... until it got unstable.

can also try
cpu vcore voltage response to fast,
phase control to extreme
cpu voltage to normal
dvid(offset) to +0.020v
llc loadline calibration set to high

then stress the cpu in windows and see what load cpu voltage is and adjust if need be by lowering/increasing dvid

Well, mine tops at 75C the hottest core, with my case open (closed it tops 78C)
I'm using an Corsair A70 air cooler plus mx-4 thermal paste and my room temperature is around 20C.

92C still under the 105C that will make your cpu slow down.

But in my opnion I would like max 85C on prime95.

I changed my multiplier till it reached 4.50ghz and ran prime 95 for half hour, max temps on a blend test were 92c, is that bad?

Yes 92 is bad..

People have different ideas of safe temps but I like to keep mine below 70-75, I think that is fair.

What vcore did CPU-Z display?
