I think OcUK is much improved these days so credit where it's due. I didn't buy from them for quite a while in all honesty but the guys are doing a good job it seems (and DPD are great in my area).
I won't touch any shop that uses CityLink anyhow.

Oh yes, support/CS could be difficult in the past, and to be frank, sometimes plain barmy.
There is a lesson to be learnt here....
yea always price check and make sure you get the best deal for yourself.

sometimes tracking does not always reflect where a parcel is.
the other day I ordered some non pc related stuff and the tracking showed it as in Birmingham on the morning of the delivery.
after it was delivered a few hours later the tracking showed it as being at the Newcastle depot before being with me.
next day services usually come with some form of refund if they miss their deadline anyway? I'm pretty sure the last time I sent something with parcelforce it said that somewhere

It's a shame OCUK have become one of the most expensive IT retailers. You get what you pay for though.
When things go well, it's great going with someone else to save money. The issue is when things go wrong. Unfortunately I'm in a situation now where something has gone wrong and it's a nightmare trying to sort out. I knew it would be as it was before, and the time before. Still didn't stop me trying to save some money though Grrrr!!!!!
Problem is where not talking a few quid, they are TONS cheaper. £100 saved in two products! Luckily those were ok. My problem was with Corsair RAM, YET AGAIN

I ordered from Planet X the other day, I live in Sheffield, they are in Sheffield. DPD took the items to Birmingham, before delivering to me.
because they have to go to sorting hubs first
, no point one guy delivering a single parcel from panet x to your house when he could be taking a full load from the birmingham hub

Oh I know.. I wasn't complaining, DPD have always been perfect for me. I just found it funny when I looked.
Yeah, turns out the tracker was wrong. I know that it could have been sent there but still have made it to my house, but logistically - why the hell would you send it to Birmingham to be put on a 4 hour drive 200 miles up north, when it could have been sent to a local depot near me in the first place? They already had an extra day to deliver it.
