Being the clumsy fool that I am, I have decided I need to get some insurance for some of my gadgets.

After reading a bit online and trying to compare all of the new startups trying to compete it's proving difficult to find any reliable info on who I should go with.

Originally I was looking at protectmybubble.com but found a load of horror stories which put me right off.

I am looking to insure my HTC one and HP Touchpad to start with loss protection.

Does anyone have any personal reccomendations?

Some bank accounts do gadget insurance (usually mobile phones but some offer others).

Worth a look

I'm with Help u Cover at the moment, making my second claim. This time it's for dropping it on the pavement and smashing the screen.

They're ok but not as easy as they could be.

I'm about to leave them though because you can only make 2 claims in any 12 month period.

As far as I can see HSBC don't offer any sort of insurance for gadgets and I don't have any contents insurance.

I was just wandering who people have used before for the most hassle free claims. I have dropped prety much every phone I've ever had, and it doesn't matter people saying be more careful, its not if but when it gets dropped!

If there are any decent content providers who will cover a phone and tablet outside the house including loss I would consider that also, but I only have an old 32" tv and my pc that would be worth adding to it.

Apologies for the hijack, but who do you guys use for contents insurance? I need to sort some out. Not got loads - my laptop, iPad Mini, and a couple of suits are all that are really worth insuring, but obviously it's still worth sorting.

I've claimed on the HSBC extended warranty insurance in the past when I trod on a netbook screen. IIRC I chose a replacement of the same value from a specific distributor they provided. My experience was hassle free and fast. I think HSBC outsourced to a 3rd party which I assume you can buy cover from direct but I can't remember the name of them.

We've got 4 smartphones (2 x iPhones, SGS1 and SGS3) and 4 gadgets (camcorder, Asus Transformer, iPod and something else) for £10/month from the Co-Op.

House insurance/ insurance you get through being a member of Unite

Being a unite member has some great benefits, apart from being bombarded by its dreadful communist spam.
