Bioshock 3 - Infinite

Please don't blame the designers for your failure to complete a segment of the game.
I agree with him to an extent...

In an ideal world a game designer and a player would be in perfect sync, the game would be just the right difficulty to be challenging whilst not forcing the player to repeat sections of a game more than once. due to death.

Infinite DID work very well on this front, death meant just resurrection, you can come back straight where you "died" and you don't have to repeat anything. However because the zep fight is objective based it bypasses their own mechanic.

The bit I do not agree on however is that you can run out of ammo on that fight... Pick up a weapon from the ground or an RPG from the wall... There's plenty enough ammo to kill everything you need to. Don't whine to me that your stuff isn't upgraded it's not an issue.

It is an issue when up until that point a lot of stuff you've not needed to upgrade or had a reason to and once your into that fight you can't do so without reloading an earlier checkpoint.

I've used up every RPG off the wall, even gone up the top and used the ammo on the sniper rifle and still running out. There may be some other weapons/ammo scattered about from drops, etc. but I don't have enough time to hunt around and find it before they destroy the core.

I'm guessing a lot of people upgraded possession from the start which would make it a lot easier.

What else have you upgraded?

As you have, the only weapons I have upgraded are the carbine and shotgun. Possession only upgraded once to possess humans. I was mainly using un-upgraded shock to stun the big guys. I had fully upgraded charge but don't think I used that in the fight at all. In fact that's probably the only vigor I used, maybe 1 upgrade bronco once or twice I can't remember.

Edit: Though I was using the bloodlust hat.

I just skylined all over the place occasionally dropping in close with my shotgun...then charging all over the place. I only upgraded the shotgun and hand canon, and Shock and charge....didn't bother with anything else

I love charge:D I'll take any opportunity to use it.

I did it on 1999 mode with first level possession, I never bothered upgrading it as I wasn't really using it. To be fair, I was using a fully upgraded crow trap which was great for controlling the human enemies but I did find myself constantly running out of ammo and having to scavenge around for bits and pieces. I also got lucky at one point where one of the patriots became distracted and came after me instead of the core, it essentially bought a free zeppellin attack.

It is tough and it took a couple of tries but if you're having real difficulty with it and just want to progress then lower the difficulty.

What the actual ****.... I just reloaded and completed it after only 3 waves... while not even really trying, was paying more attention to typing up a massive rant as I'm completely fedup.

I can only assume something was bugged to **** before as I was making it to 6-7 waves before the core eventually was destroyed.

this is one method that I used during the zepelin fights
inside spoiler tag just in case
I only used songbird for the enemy ships
and gears with brittle skinned, vampires embrace, winter shiled and burning halo. I just melee'd everyone while being invulnerable and used possession on the enemy with grenade launchers or the patriot and charge an enemy to get in close to the skyline. method is abit slow but a lot fun stabbing enemies :D

I completed it with Shock Jockey/Charge, carbine and shotgun, Ammo cap, scavenger's vest, tunnel vision and head master. Using songbird on the zepplins. I have no idea what was going on before as this time, doing exactly the same as the last half a dozen attemps, after the 2nd lot of patriots I got a prompt to join Elizabeth at the bows - before I was just getting wave after wave of patriots until the core was destroyed.

anyone know if the saves can backed up ?
Id like to backup mine before starting a new one. tried steamapps/common and my docs/mygames and found nothing

Here's how I did it.
Take out the rocket guys by possession, they generally shoot themselves afterward. As for everything else, only use the songbird on the gunships and zeppelins and camp at the opposite end from the core and shoot the patriots from behind (more damage) as they pretty much ignore you walking toward the core, but pickup their crank guns when they die, you only have to worry about the other weak enemies trying to shoot you, but they are easily dropped with return to sender.

Yep, this is pretty much how I did it, except I killed the rocket guys as I'm an idiot and didn't think to use possession. It did take me about 4 attempts though, and as somebody else mentioned I didn't even realise I had to protect something on the first attempt.

Weird, were you destroying the Zeppelins the other times?

Definitely. The only thing I did differently at all was reduce the graphic settings so I had a bit better framerate as I was intending to record it to see if anyone could identify what I was doing wrong.

Theres a guide to doing it on the steam info/news page for the game under the heading about splashscreens and fov.

I pre-purchased this game but didn't get the rewards on my first playthrough. Apparently I need to go to some puzzle game website and play a different game on that for a while to get up to a certain level (!) but first I have to register for that (is this even right? It sounds a bit bonkers) but on the industrial revolution website I need to enter a 16 digit code, where is that code? It's not on my email receipt for pre-purchasing the game.

Great game but the pre-purchase thing seems bizarrely and needlessly complex.

OK I followed all the instruction scattered about the internet, did all of the above and got into the industrial revolution mini-game, played up to level twelve, while uttering my secret code backwards, standing on my left foot, facing north - should I actually get the bonus stuff in the bar now or is there another part of the ritual?

I got achievements without playing the puzzle game??

I did find that the achievments tab appeared in Steam only a hour ot two after the game actually unlocked on the release day.

I think you have to do all 59 of them and then you get a code that you enter into steam.

It's hardly complex though and tbh the puzzles were fun. Its as good as some Indie games I have played. If you are forcing yourself to do them then i wouldnt even bother. the rewards aren't that great.

No I think you got the code for the in game stuff after the first achievement, level 12 or something like that. If you complete all 59 you then get the facebook background and avatar or whatever.

I didn't use the code as I figured I didn't really want the boost, so not entirely sure what you do with it.
