Facebook Home reveal, Live now

its marketed towards people that use facebook a lot :) makes sense, i mean it is easier to have access to everything you need in one place for you fave website ?!

It just seems lame to me, Facebook isn't cool anymore and I sure as heck wouldn't want a phone built around it.
And it's just another way to snipe your personal habits so they can sell you more advertising, sucks.

The live demo just put me off it. It looks nice for those who litterally live on Facebook, but I feel it's kinda poorly implemented in some parts.

They should just improve the Facebook app instead, it feels like a mess at the moment .

For all that this is not for me, they will sell a lot of these phones and they will get a lot of downloads of the launcher.

I don't quite see why anyone would want wanna see babies, a steak dinner or random pictures with quotes on saying how great "love" is on their homescreens though.

The facebook app for android is actually quite terrible.

In what way? I can quickly and easily write status updates, upload pics and tag people, search for people, look at groups, chat, etc. I can't really think of anything I can't do, apart from remove tags.

What else do you do on there? :p

Just watched the demo on engadget, it looks ok if everyone you know is a professional photographer and a model, but unfortunately the real world isn't all models and pro photographers which will male the UI look UGLY, some of the tosh my mates post on facebook isnt the kinda stuff i want appearing when i wake my phone up.

It's not what you can't do on it. It's thing like it deciding to show updates from hours ago when you know there are newer ones, even when refreshing (I usually switch to "top stories" and back to "most recent" to fix). I also particularly dislike how notifications aren't in sync with facebook in my browser on my desktop. ie if I read a message on my desktop my phone still stays flashing!

Not to mention there's absolutely no tablet UI as well. For example, the image preview in the news feed is just plain silly:

And the actual image is sometimes a hell of a lot smaller than what the preview shows.

I just question how many people spend that much time on FB on their phones. I guess I am just not the target audience for this sort of thing. Its the same with windows 8. Everything seems to be moving towards "leisure" with technology. If I am using my phone it is generally to call, text or lookup information. Same with my PC.
