Computer Keeps Restarting!!

Ok this is really driving me mental now, my Grandads computers keeps restarting for no reason and i cannot figure out what the problem with it is, it seems to lose power and this can happen completely randomly.

I have updated the bios to the latest revision and the voltages seem ok, the computer is not overclocked. I have RMA'd the SSD before but that didnt seem to fix the problem so i am guessing that isnt the issue. I do however have the current windows installed in IDE mode on the sata ports which i have a feeling could be the problem??

The screen goes black.

Could the PSU be causing the issue?

Ok well i think i have a spare one which i will give a go and see if this cures the problem.

I will report back soon.

Ok after swapping the PSU to one that I know was working, the computer lost power again today!!!

Could this be a problem with the motherboard? Are there known issues with it?

I had a similar issue and I thought was the PSU. It turned out to be the motherboard. I had a poor 24pin connection. It would be really inconsistent and would have trouble booting properly.

Sorry for the really late reply i went back to Australia so never got round to replying.

I think i will get a replacement board.

Would this be the best board i could get for around 50-60, would it be good to use with all of the other components??
