Computer Turns On, Blank screen.

Hey Guys, im sure you have all seen this before.

A friend of mine had his old mobo short, requiring a new upgrade. He reused his APU from this zapped system. Upon completion of assembly, the computer turns on, but there is no indication of a POST or boot.

I went through all of the basic troubleshooting with him (Re-seating RAM, Diff RAM sticks, diff PSU, With GPU installed, no GPU installed). Though I Haven't been to have a look at it myself yet, I get the feeling that the APU is borked after the short.

Is there anything else I might be missing apart from connectors?

Is the 12v rail installed?
What is the make & model of the PSU?
What RAM slot is he using when testing?

Ultimately, is there a mother APU he can test the board with?

IMO if the computer switches on but does not boot or POST this is usually if the CPU is faulty or is not seat correctly.

I would suggest using a hammer to help it along. Keep bashing until it turns into money.

The model os PSU is: OCZ CoreXtream (It does the job)

12V rail all installed correctly

Used Both slots with some of my own ram, no joy.

Prob APU, no other one to test either.

try clearing the CMOS and see if that works if not then it sounds like the CPU has gone

It could be a faulty motherboard or cpu, with no post beeps its quite hard to diagnose without a spare cpu at hand.

Its broke, the CPU, been over it with a fine toothed comb and found to no avail.
