Hi guys, I'm just putting together my 3570k build now and I seem to have hit a snag.

I get a picture with no graphics card
I get a picture with an HD4850.
I get a picture with the 7950 in a different computer (same PSU).

But I don't get a picture with the 7950 in my 3570k build.

I'm thinking it could be down to not getting enough power, but I'm using an Antec 550watt powersupply which worked fine in my previous computer (a q8200 build). Looking on the intel website, the Q8200 even consumes more power than a 3570k, so I'm really confused as to what is going on exactly.

Is there any other reason this could happen? The minimum requirements for the PSU suggested 500watts would be fine.

Thank you

Just to add, the motherboard is a Gigabyte Z77-D3H, i've seen a couple of threads which suggest I need to perform a BIOS update, so I'm installing windows and will update soon now.

for what ever reason a lot of these 7950s are running in 640x480 during BIOS and also windows and a lot of screens don't support this resolution.

I got mine working by putting it on an old screen and installing catalyst drivers and then changing it from 480p to 1080p

Still got no picture in BIOS though but at least now windows is working and maybe same will work for you.

I have the Z77X-D3H, I imagine they run the same or similar BIOS. Completely disconnect your GPU, use the onboard gpu to connect to the monitor, go into the BIOS, there's a setting called PCI-ROM or something similar, make sure it isn't on "UEFI Compatible" or "EFI Compatible". This fixed it for me after hours of going crazy
