Ok guys so i might be a complete tard and missing something so obvious i should be dragged outside and shot or something more serious is going on.
Basically my problems started when i tried to hook up my tv at the other side of the room as well as my monitor.
Both are LG and both are 1920x1080.
This is my gpu http://MSI twin frozr iii

So i tried the tv on the dvi to vga and the monitor hdmi to hdmi and it wouldnt have it
Then i tried the tv hdmi to hdmi and the monitor dvi to dvi
Then i got a mdp to hdmi and tried all sorts of combos but i can only ever get one of the screens working at once and if i plug the other screen in, one or both go blank.

So what the hell am i doing wrong?

Have you made sure your bias is upto date and do you have the latest graphics card driver installed?

Have you configured it in the Windows Settings?

Try pressing Windows Key + P until you have selected Extended or Duplicate if you can't see anything if the screen is blank, you'll want to spam it a couple of times.

Yeah everything is all up to date, i have been tinkering a bit more and have managed to get the second screen going, both of them are displaying the same desktop which is what i want and both resolutions are set to 1920x1080 but for the life of me i cant get desktop to fit on the tv its always of to the left, ive used all the options in ccc but as its in the vga section options are limited

Any ideas?

Have you just tried to conect to the TV without the monitor connected to your gpu ?

Also on your LG TV when in the settings screen do you have a computer option or can you configure the hdmi port for computer conection on my Samsung TV I'm useing port 3 and when I go into the TV settings for that conection I set it up for a computer feed.

Just a few ideas.

If you right click on your desktop and click on screen resolution. it will bring this up

Ok guys ive gone through a lot of the suggestions on here but the only thing that works perfectly is by doing this

Gpu Mini display > hdmi on monitor
Gpu hdmi > Hdmi on tv

For some reason it just doesnt like Gpu hdmi or gpu mini display with anything plugged into the gpu dvi port, which has me scratching my head a little bit.

All it means is i wasted a 5er on a long vga cable and now i have to go and spend o a long hdmi cable grrrrrr.

Everyone tells me about this just scan business but where is the setting for that? I cant see it in windows and ccc also there is no setting on the lg tv for this, therenis an option to adjust the screen but the image is always too big for the vga input.

Even if i change from 16:9 to 4:3 the black lines come down the sides like they are ment to but the image is still too big.

The setting will be on your TV in the section where you can change the aspect ratio to 4:3, widescreen (16:9), zoom, just scan

What model is your TV

All i have is 16:9 and 4:3 there is no zoom or just scan option, im not sure what the model is and im at my shop at the moment so ill have to look when i get home in a bit but all i know is it 1080p and about 5-6 years old
