Last time I order from a competitor.

Delivery never concerns me, it's always RMA that is a concern and how most companies are jackals and try to get out of it any way they can. Here doesn't really concern me "any more" but that Bolton based place is still as ruthless as ever. Even their Returns Manager comes up in loads of google results for being nothing less than a common thief. It's also funny that he actively scans other forums as he knows he gets certain to get mentioned.

Delivery a few days late? Please, I have patience. It's the acceptance of intermittent faults you need to be worried about :)

To be fair that's mostly over the £35 return charge if they find it not faulty, which is a harsh policy imo.

Don't forget though that OCUk have only relatively recently (in the last couple of years) sorted their reputation out.

The only other place I order from is the rainforest, mainly due to the fact that their support and returns are also absolutely amazing.

No competitor price hinting. Thank you.. OCuk really need to check there prices, they're at least 20% more expensive then most places on just about every item

Been a lot longer than a couple of years. 06/07 and they were way ahead from my dealings here and elsewhere.

I nearly got scanned a few years ago. I ordered a new builds worth of gear for a mate plus a new GFX Card for myself. When it all turned up It was missing my card.
To be honest it wouldn't have fit in the box anyhow.

So after many calls and me driving over there to drop off all the empty packages. A week later they eventually came back and said they've managed to fit all the packages in the original shipping box so it must have been in there. They even said the guy that packed it even remembered putting it in the box.

We eventually noticed that the carrier had weighed the box and had an exact weight printed on the label. So off they go again to weigh everything. which came back 1.2Kg heavier than the carrier said. The same exact weight as the card.

So even though the packer remembers putting it in the box it must have fallen out before he closed the lid.

Never again
Ocuk forever

but logistically - why the hell would you send it to Birmingham to be put on a 4 hour drive 200 miles up north, when it could have been sent to a local depot near me in the first place?
If we shipped a parcel going (for example) from Barking to Basildon it would go via Atherstone.
Another example. A parcel from Dublin to the UK? It would travel via Liege in Belgium.

Now look at a map and you'll see that doesn't look like a logical route - but I assure you it is. Couriers use a system called hub and spoke, so parcels travel through a central sortation point and back out the other side.

I havnt ordered many things from Ockers maybe 2-3 orders ... but the 2 times I did both were sent out late; and 1 not for a few days later (said was in stock but then after I ordered showed it as back ordered).

- I do like the feedback on the forums etc

I've had these issues happen to me with OCUK quite a few times, past and present. In the past they were the worst to deal with as well, but not so much now though.

I wouldn't have ordered from here if you'd paid me to in 2007, such was the reputation but things have turned around recently and there have been definite and significant signs of improvement, so I would be (well have been) happy to purchase here now.

Conversely, one of the competitors was so far ahead of the pack it was unreal but more and more negative stories are appearing about them now and I think they need to address a few of their policies before i'll go back to them without a second thought.

Sorry, you're way off, but then, the last time you probably dealt with them is 06/07. Even as short as 2010 they were continually busted on the web for poor CS hence the new jobs being posted around that time for someone who actually knew what they were doing :p

I was scanned once as well. Ordered a Mobo for my dad with their insurance policy and it came with a 50 call bullet hole in it. Phoned up and sent pictures in and they after about 2 hours admitted it obviously wasn't my fault as the brown delivery box wasn't even opened yet. I made sure they admitted on the phone it wouldn't be taken out under their insurance policy. My new board came and I accidentally bent a pin myself, phoned up to get a replacement under their insurance I paid for and they said it had already been used.

So they have been committing fraud, claiming under insurance for Dead/Unusable on Delivery. I wonder how many other times they have claimed under this as well?

The phone CS were plain rude and were unwilling to accept they did wrong. I mentioned trading standards and suddenly they would make an exception and replace it as 'one off'.

First and last order I made with them, only did it because they were £40 cheaper at the time compared to OCUK, which after all of the stress just wasn't worth it.

Same here, not that bothered about deliveries, but due to a bad RMA with Ocuk I never use them anymore, which is a shame.
