Christians and Muslims fighting in Egypt

Must be the first I've heard of Christians using fatal force like this, any thoughts?

Do you specifically mean Christians in Egypt or Christians in general because if it is the later then you need to read a little bit of history. :)

+1

Don't try and say Christians are an innocent party in most of the recent conflicts that have troubled the world. Both Christians, Muslims and any other crazy religious people are all as bad as each other.

Tell me more.

What about the crusade where the brave Christians lead by Mormon Jesus defeated the bloodthirsty and homosexual Mohamed?

I knew the crusades were coming up and maybe brush up your words a bit.

Is there really any reason for this level of provocation? stuff like this will only make the inevitable Muslim bashing ending happen all the quicker.

Its a sad state of affairs. Under previous regime(s) it was something of an unwritten rule that aslong as they kept their stuff low key and didn't make any attempts to convert muslims, etc. they were left to go about their business. While not an ideal situation (they often were paid 30-40% less for doing the same job as a muslim would be) they did manage to mostly co-exist side by side. So its kind of sad to see it all kicking off now the muslim brotherhood are essentially in control.

The Crusades are an obvious one, but we also have the Inquisition and various heresies. You could ask the Cathars about Christian violence except they are all dead. Cromwell's escapades in Ireland could also count. For Christian terrorism we have the obvious Guy Fawkes and US anti-abortion groups like the Lambs of Christ.

They're acting in opposition to what the new testament teaches. There's no "get even with your enemy" in the new testament.

And anyway, if people wish to talk about deaths religion has caused (which is foolish because it's MAN that causes conflicts) then lets not forget about all the murders committed under communist regimes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_killings_under_Communist_regimes
Mass killings occurred under some Communist regimes during the twentieth century with an estimated death toll numbering between 85 and 100 million.

Coptic Christians in Egypt have been one of the most discriminated against groups since WW2. Mubarak often used them as a scapegoat so I guess maybe with his overthrow there may have been some hope for them, only to see it crushed by the Muslim Brotherhood.
