Last time I order from a competitor.

People who shop elsewhere make me sad! :(

We all do it 5Ub,even you for some items i bet.

If ocuk did do a price match i bet within 6 months your customer base will go up a lot.

I do like the service i get from ocuk but if its £10 cheaper elsewhere then ill go with that,im never in a rush to get something so if it takes 5 days then im cool with that.

Plus i haven't had any haribo from the last 2 orders from ocuk which makes me sad :(

Oh if OCUK did price match and kept DPD as there courier there sales would go up lots! I order from here because i hateee other companies using yodel. Iv complained so many times to them there driver just kicks my parcels about it seems

I have to say, OCUK have always been absolutely outstanding for me. If the price difference on an item is minimal, I will always go with OCUK. I have never, ever had a problem with delivery. I order then it comes next day every time. This has been the case since 2005 when I started buying from them.
I've had to RMA things over the years a few times, and every time the process has been simple; request RMA, get RMA number sent, return item, within a day or so I get an update that I will be refunded or replaced. Job done.
I've only once I think had to phone them for assistance, and they helped me out too with some order - can't remember why but it was resolved.
I also used OCUK customer service forum where they helped me with something.

I have had two RMAs recently with other competitors to OCUK and they were both bad. One tried to claim nothing was wrong with the item. The other took a month to replace.

I also hate to see people blindly pimping companies just because they had one bad experience elsewhere, but I think we need to big up companies more these days in the Brit culture where it's just a moan fest. We only tend to complain rather than praise.

So I am praising OCUK highly for service and inventory and stock levels.

The only thing that has annoyed me about OCUK in the past, is when they have posted about a very popular deal and then the websites have not been able to cope with the volume of orders for special deals. We have had this saga at least 3 times where it was a lottery as to who got an order in. I think this could be managed better.

Otherwise, fantastic.

I agree about price matching. If OCUK priced match, people would just come here without even comparing elsewhere. I usually have a select 3 or 4 main competitors that I check prices with. These days it's really all about the price. Most people will just go where it is cheapest as they know they have DSR and 1 year warranty to protect them.
Whenever I am building a system for someone, I usually make 3 or 4 identical baskets or as close to as possible, across a few sites. It's usually close between OCUK and one other place. I would say a lot of people would at that point just go with the cheapest. If OCUK priced match, it would eliminate this comparison totally. People would just go to OCUK and buy more quickly and confidently. I agree sales would be likely to (in time) increase. I think the higher turnover would compensate for any loss in profit with price matching. It would be more of a long term investment to win a larger customer base as the default hardware supplier for computer components.

Well frankly, it's the visibly improved service being offered by staff like yourself that is restoring confidence, certainly from my perspective and many others I would imagine.

It's one of the most over riding aspects of a purchase for me, along with cost - how well will I be treated if something goes wrong?

5 years ago - I would have expected to be fobbed off and stiffed.

Today - I see staff bending over backwards to help people.

Oh if OCUK did price match

OCuK have price matched for me a few times in the past. Even saving me £32 on a single order, which is why I though they would have price matched for this order (It was £30 cheaper elsewhere), unfortunately the fella said he couldn't.

I agree OCuK has upped its game massively the past couple of years, I really do feel safe ordering with you guys. Many a time has 5UB bent over backwards to help me :)

Ill be honest my comment was abit unfair.. I don't shop about really as i don't trust other courier companies. Unless it cables ill buy here. RM Usually get my cables

Ignoring my personal grievence with OCUK for a moment, I agree with others sentiments about price matching, and price would be a major factor in ordering, cheapest normally wins for me.

I 2nd this,I asked once for a price match and got told no,never asked again and buy where it's the cheapest.

I buy from where ever is cheapest but having free delivery nearly always ends up at OcUK

Not really the same thing but last time I was in Australia (Melbourne) and I ordered something from Hong Kong (obviously expecting a few weeks) it took 2-3 months and according to stamps on the package it had visited Canada (Toronto) first, I believe it's about 10,000 miles difference :P

I'm patient with deliveries though, even stuff located in GB I'm happy to wait a couple weeks though typically everything from this island arrives within 3 days.

As with other posters my 'loyalty' is motivated by price to a certain extent, there's some places I won't shop regardless of price because they're not trustworthy or they're tax dodging *****s, but when I'm purchasing based on a budget it makes a difference. A few recent purchases I've made have all went to a competitor because OcUK was just over the credit limit for a cc I was using and for other stuff the competitor was greatly cheaper for a particular product I was after. Once I have free delivery that may change but obviously I'm going to shop around at my favourite places.

Despite being grateful for the company providing the forum, I am under no illusion that any company gives a hoot about my few orders every now and again.
I also think that service from most of these places is similar, apart from the book store one, where its all automated and stands head and shoulders above the rest.
I have free delivery from Both OCUK its big competitor and the book place so decisions are made purely on price pretty much.

If its beyond my limited pc knowledge then I try to buy from here (e.g oc'ed bundles) as I know the staff know what they are on about, and I can ask on here for help.
For other straightforward stuff, I will go with the cheapest option

I also bought a custom laptop from a competitor who apparently... specialise in PCs... Ordered 6th March and it was only just built (I.e not configured, quality control, tested, awaiting dispatch or dispatched) by 2nd April. It sat around in PreProduction for an epoch. I asked for standard build time (9-11 days) not ****ing glacial! Its now been on awaiting diapatch for 4 days. Sigh....

In building my current PC, I managed to fall out with two of OcUK's competitors over the way I was treated. One even managed to breach the Sales of Goods Act!

I think next time, I may just pay the premium so at least I know I'll be treated properly.

I think it's disgusting how I've been treated recently by other companies, especially when you consider I was spending hundreds at a time!

There was a couple of items however, that would have been difficult not to buy elsewhere as they were substantially cheaper due to deals, etc. It's a real shame OcUK isn't more competitive in that regard, as I'd buy all my stock here without question if price wasn't an issue. Never had a problem with them, but have with others and I'm wary of them.
