When I was young I always loved playing games such as theme park, theme hospital, transport tycoon and roller coaster tycoon. I don't really play too many games other than the occasional stint on Football Manager these days, however I've got the urge to rekindle my youth and have another crack at the sort of games that I was bought up on. I always like to think that I've kept fairly up to date with game releases however I've never really noticed much along the lines of the games listed above that have proven to be a hit.

Can anyone recommend any games similar that I can give a try? It's a real shame that the likes of theme hospital has never been bought up to the current generation of technology!

I'm still hoping and praying that they'll bring the likes of Theme Hospital to the iPad :D It's the perfect game for a tablet! Make it happen! :p

In my opinion, we haven't had many decent sim/management games released in ages :(

As TH has simple graphics, have you considered trying corsix-th over RDP?

Thanks Matty, I'll have a download of that in a bit later. I cant really understand why that type of game seems to have fallen by the wayside. Imagine a modern day theme hospital or theme park on a greater scale with graphics a little closer to The Sims, with some of the rubbish churned out these day's I'm surprised no one has every really had a proper bash at it.

I've tried it and it's fantastic :) They've done some really good work to bring it up to scratch :) But how good would it be to play it on the train on your iPad :p

Problem with new management sims, particularly for mobile/pad market, is that they are so well suited for micropayments and everyone is trying to cash in.

As well as CorsixTH there is also OpenTTD for some good old transport tycoon action, they've duplicated the assets so you don't need a base game of TTD to get it running, just download it free and you're laughing... Also just like Corsix they've gone further by patching in a lot of options not available in the original which really add to the gameplay :D

I also loved Dungeon Keeper and RCT, and agree with the poster above a modern version of this type of game has the potential to be so awesome
