My msi mpower was giving my lots of hassle even after bois updates ive sent it back i will have 250 for my new mobo the 155 from msi and some cash i have seperate.

Im looking for a z77 mobo to go with my i5 3570k

Must haves

Descent sound

Overlcoking ability (e.g) offset volatge and such

Enough room to sli at a later date

Ive been looking at the z77 asus sabertooth and the Maximus V formula

any other suggestions with the above requirments would be appreciated :D

Maximus Formula V has absolutely incredible sound, 192,000Khz audio 24-bit just as good as the independent asus sound cards you can buy today. Had to buy a new pair of speakers and change all my music library to FLAC to take full advantage of these. Kindly has enough space to SLI two 3 - Slot cards.

It does look stunning can the hybrid cooler only run with air do you know as i have a corsair h100i and wouldnt be able to proper water cooling for a while?

The integrated VRM water block is very efficient at cooling the VRM on it's own without water cooling. Also the barbs are non changeable and would restrict the size of tubing you could use with them unless you use some converters.

I have overclocked at 4.9Ghz + and had no heating issues with the VRM.

As you know most motherboard just have passive cooling on the VRM anyway.

I think I am really bias'ed towards ASUS to be honest. That and I have a friend who has the same board and a decent sound card and he sold it because he couldn't tell the difference. I've had nothing but crystal clear quality sound and I use the computer as a spare guitar amplifier :P

depends on budget, i like the Maximus V formula but due to cost i went with a asus p8z77-v pro, cant grumble with it so far but then i dont use onboard sound so cant help there

I have looked at that board as my fall back Gamer if i dont have enough cash for the maximus being a student i cannot be without my comp for to long. this old xp unit im typing no now cannot run most programmes i need lol. im just glad i still had it to ask you guys for advice and watch Many many reviews lol

The Formula is a great board. I had forgotten how good really. Last week any visitors to the gadget show saw me overclocking a 3770K on one for between 6.45 and 6.6 ghz all week. Time after time it took the hammer with fantastic stability.

I have even given it some more bnenching today on LN2 and again it came out fighting!!

The UD4 TH is also a great board from gigabyte and worth a look for its cool running and advanced power delivery.

Thanks for your input guys so between the z77x ud5h or ud4 th which would you recommend 8 pack?

I do want to Overclock the benifits i see from the ud5h is extra lan port, xifi sound and the ability to suplliment pci lanes with a sata power cable?

^^^ Correct yeah. Good board!!!

The Formula has extra power via 4 Pin molex at the base of the board too. I personally prefer the UP4 TH to the UD5 H if you decide to go Gigabyte.

The ASUS Formula also has plenty to offer. The bios is so mature and helps gain every last inch from a processor and RAM combination.

Yeah sorry for my mistake im leaning towards the gigabyte one you recommended as some of my funds had to be used on my car i thank you guys for all your inputs. It is truly appreciated :)
