Christians and Muslims fighting in Egypt

Aside from you innate prejudices, Catholics are Christians by definition. Whether what the Crusaders did was Christian or Unchristian according to the New Testament is immaterial and beside the point. The point is that the Crusaders were Christian and came from Christian Nation States where Christianity was in it's primacy.

There is also no uniform promotion of pacifism in the New Testament, The Old Testament advocates Holy War and Scripture can (and was) used to justify the Crusades and the actions within those Crusades.

Your logic also fails because while not all Drivers are Drunk Drivers, All Drunk Drivers are Drivers by definition. Just as not all Christians are Catholics, but all Catholics are Christians.

So where in the new testament does it advocate war? I'd love to know! To say there's no promotion of pacifism is stupid. Have a look at the below scriptures:
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. -- Romans 12:17-21

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, -- Matthew 5:44

"You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? ... -- Matthew 5:43-48

And yes, it's true drunk drivers are still drivers, but using your logic is like saying the law is wrong. They went against the law; just as these Christians went against the teachings of Christ.

Can you not read? I said their is no uniform promotion of pacifism, not that there was no pacifism. For example to add to your little biblical quotes we have the opposite:

Matthew 10:34 ‘Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Luke 12:49-51 ‘I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and what stress I am under until it is completed! Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!

John 2:13-16 The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and the money-changers seated at their tables. Making a whip of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, both the sheep and the cattle. He also poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. He told those who were selling the doves, ‘Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a market-place!’

So, No there is no uniform promotion of pacifism in the New Testament as I correctly stated.

You follow the Bible (both New and Old Testament) as being literally true do you not?

I did not say that the Law was wrong, nor did I even imply such, I did not even make any judgements on the right or wrong of any action....I simply illustrated that you are using a false premise and as you have now stated in the highlighted part of you quoted post...they were indeed Christians which goes against your statement unequivocally.

Any Christian that follows the law is an idiot. The letter killeth.

Catholics are not Christians. They revoked their right to be called such when they started killing other Christians. Not to mention they can't read their Bible and follow a man.

If the Catholics are not Christians then Christianity is a minority religion of little global importance and if killing other Christians is a premise for removing their Christianity connection then Protestantism is also not Christianity either, nor are the Orthodox Churches or much of Christendom for that matter.

Catholics are not Christians.

They really are, you may not consider them as such but that is neither here nor there. There are the largest Christian denomination in the world.

Or are we really going down the "No True Scotsman" route?

There's your problem. Protestants didn't follow a man that orders them to war, The Catholics did and probably would again.

It doesn't matter if we're a minority, numbers aren't important.

It isn't my problem as Catholicism is recognised as the largest of the Christian Denominations and is therefore by definition Christian.

Simply because Protestantism generally follows the doctrines of Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide (two things that are not entirely compatible theologically if we look at the scripture itself) doesn't mean they are anything other than another denomination of Christianity.

Just because your opinion is that your particular beliefs and interpretations make you the only true Christians doesn't really mean a lot. And Protestants have followed plenty of leaders who ordered them to war another Christian Church or People...The French Wars of Religion and the Thirty Years War illustrate this.

Never said we were the only true Christians.

Your opinions on the five Solae just show how little understanding of the Bible you have.

I won't argue with someone whose ignorant of it.

Never said we were the only true Christians.

You stated that the Catholics are not Christian, implying that whichever denomination(s) you belong to, or you are comparing them to are indeed true Christians.

Your opinions on the five Solae just show how little understanding of the Bible you have.

Being as I did not give an opinion on the Five Solae in Protestantism you are pretty much inventing an opinion here.

I won't argue with someone whose ignorant of it.

I would expect I have a deeper and more objective knowledge of the Bible and it's respective and related scripture and denominations than most people on this forum, you included. :D

O how it's great to be ignorant and think you know it all XD :D

You get all that knowledge from your secular education and think it's correct. Have fun with that.

I don't claim to know it all, however you claim that I am ignorant, and that has been demonstrated time and again to be a false accusation.

Also you think my education is limited to a secular one?..now you are making assumptions that have no basis.

I think it is a shame that your argument is so weak that you feel the need to resort to attacking the person rather than the argument, but then what do I know, according to your in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all things Christian (or not as the case may be) I am nothing but an ignorant secularist who doesn't understand even basic theology.

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion." Proverbs 18:2

:D:rolleyes::o

I don't need to argue with a liberal unbeliever whom leans on a secular education.

I know it's only secular because you're not a believer.

I know it's only secular because you're not a believer.

Then you simply do not understand the definition of a Secular Education.

Just because you realised you were out of your depth both theologically and definitively you have been forced to resort to ad hominem (unnecessarily so) in order to extricate yourself instead of actually listening, learning and contributing yourself both objectively and in good faith.

Simply being a believer doesn't make you right, it certainly doesn't make you objective.

No, I just know what you've said before and it's a load of bull.

Have fun with being confused!

Being a believer does not make you correct but being carnal definitely does make you incorrect always.
